Program Details
This volunteer program gives international participants the opportunity to support animal welfare in South Korea by helping shelters and organizations that care for stray and rescued animals. Volunteers contribute to the animals' daily well-being and help create a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. Depending on the assigned organization and available activities, volunteers may also support adoption initiatives. No special qualifications or previous educational experience are required. The program is suitable for people who care about animals and are willing to learn and contribute responsibly.

## Monday–Friday
- 9:00 AM–12:00 PM: Morning volunteer activities
- 12:00 PM–1:00 PM: Lunch break
- 1:00 PM–3:00 PM: Afternoon volunteer activities
Depending on the assigned shelter and its needs, activities may include feeding animals, walking dogs, grooming or bathing them, spending time with rescued animals, and cleaning or maintaining shelter facilities. Volunteers may also help prepare materials for adoption events when available.
Activities and locations may vary according to the host organization's schedule. Weekends are free from Friday afternoon until Monday morning. No volunteer activities take place on South Korean public holidays. If the Monday start date falls on a public holiday, activities begin the following day.
Basic Korean classes are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM for participants staying longer than one month. Class schedules and availability may change.
Rules
Volunteers must follow the assigned organization's rules, instructions, and animal care procedures. Treat all animals gently and patiently, and follow staff guidance when handling or interacting with them. Do not feed animals, give them treats, or perform care tasks unless permitted by the organization.
Please handle cleaning tools and animal care supplies responsibly, keep work areas tidy, and respect the safety of animals, staff, and other volunteers. Communicate respectfully with the team and inform the organization if you cannot attend a scheduled activity.
A copy of your passport and a criminal record certificate are required for participation. Volunteers must also comply with applicable South Korean laws and program requirements.
