Program Details
Piel Canela is a small refuge in the middle of the Colombian Pacific jungle, where we share our home with animals, surrounded by nature, sea and wildlife.
We are looking for a responsible, organized person who loves animals and wants to be part of our daily life. The exchange consists in helping with cleaning and tidying the house, and collaborating in the daily care of our pets.
More than previous experience, we value willingness, respect, initiative and commitment. It is important to feel comfortable living in a natural and adventurous environment, adapt to a simple life and understand that taking care of animals requires attention and consistency.
We want to share our space with someone who enjoys nature, respects our home and understands volunteering as an exchange based on collaboration, trust and responsibility.
Activities & Shift
Time management
The usual dynamic is five or six days of collaboration per week. Depending on the needs of the house and the workload, we may have calmer days and some flexibility in breaks, always by prior agreement.
Main activities
* Cleaning and organizing the bedrooms.
* Cleaning and maintaining the shared bathrooms.
* Cleaning and organizing the kitchen and the common areas.
* Check that the storage room is organized and that the cleaning supplies are in their place.
* Wash, fold and hang sheets and bed linens when necessary.
* Keep spaces clean, tidy and pleasant.
* Feed the pets and make sure they have water and their basic needs.
* Inform promptly if any animal shows strange behavior, needs attention or arises any situation requiring help.
Important about the animals
Even if there are days off or little work, the basic needs of the animals must be covered every day. Therefore, it is essential to be willing to feed them and attend to the agreed responsibilities, including days off. The schedules and distribution of these tasks will be organized in advance so that we can all rest.
Communication and commitment
It is essential to keep the phone available and respond to communications related to the house and the animals. We are looking for a present, responsible person committed to the well-being of our pets.
The idea is to organize ourselves with respect, good communication and flexibility, without losing sight of the responsibilities of the exchange.
