Motoyama is a beautiful place to be in and the working hours are just enough to feel like you are contributing and then having free time to explore. Yuna and Nodoka are friendly, caring and took me many places including a whole pilgrimage around the villages! I will always be grateful 🙏🏻 They even let me release my inner creativity and took me to the pharmacy when I needed it.

The the guest house it was the best experience to have our first volunteer ever. Yuna San & Nodoka San are very nice hosts. The communication, the interaction and the volunteer hours were great. Motoyama town is a unique place to visit and experience countryside life as is, very relaxing and beautiful landscapes. Highly recommend if you are looking for slow pace.

Had such a great time volunteering with Yuna-san and Nodoka-san in Motoyama! The volunteer work is simple, and everything is explained clearly beforehand. I also had plenty of free time to enjoy nature, visit local matsuris, and connect with the local community and other volunteers. It was a great way to experience the Japanese countryside. I highly recommend this volunteering experience! :)

My time in Motoyama has been wonderful. I spend 10 days in that magical small town on Shikoku island and enjoyed every minute. Nodoka and Yuna are great hosts and the work is really manageable: it's only about 3h of garden/cleaning work per day and then the weekends off and you always take a little break in between. Accommodation is also great, really cute and well equipped. Thank you so much for everything:))

Spent about 3 weeks at the the guest house in Motoyama, which was an amazing experience both in terms of volunteering and exploring the surrounding areas. Yuna-san and Nodoka-san were amazing and friendly hosts . Motoyama is a more of a quieter countryside town but good for nature lovers and a more peaceful experience. Volunteering work was fun and always reasonable, never once exceeded the work hours stated. Highly recommended for future travelers!

My partner and I had an amazing time at Motoyama thanks to Nodoka-san and Yuna-san. They are both kind, cheerful and helpful. The accommodation is nice and Motoyama is a nice town to stay at to explore rural Japan. The tasks vary day by day. We never had to work more than the agreed upon hours and even had breaks on work days.

I volunteered here for a month with my partner and we could not have asked for a better experience. Nadoka-san and Yuna-san are such amazing hosts. They made sure we never overworked ourselves while working during the agreed upon schedule. We offen helped with cleaning, gardening, deconstruction, and improving the local ecosystem. They also gave us so many local recommendations from food, to rafting, swimming in the local rivers, etc to do during our freetime. The environment created by Nadoka-san, Yuna-san as well as other volunteers truly made this experience a home away from home.

We have had a fantastic stay at the guest house guesthouse. Nodoka and Yuna are very fun and welcoming people that actively contributed to us having an amazing time. They showed us around the local area and were always willing to give some of their local knowledge and they took us to places after work. The work hours are very fair and you are shown what to do and not micromanaged. This stay felt more like helping out a couple of friends rather than a transactional stay, I would gladly stay here again.

We had a truly wonderful experience at the the guest house! Motoyama is a charming town and we fell in love with the beautiful mountains and rivers. The tasks given to us were very reasonable and we even learnt some new skills about gardening and working in the countryside. Nodoka and Yuna san are dream hosts and they never make you feel overworked, especially when it gets hot in the middle of the day. They are very knowledgeable about the area and are quick to recommend local attractions, we were even lucky enough to be taken fishing one afternoon! I highly recommend this experience!
