Program Details
Welcome to Samaritan Volunteers Organization (SVO), a registered nonprofit organization committed to providing free education and creating brighter futures for underprivileged children in Tanzania.
We are currently working on an important project: completing the construction of our new school, which will provide a better learning environment and more educational opportunities for children from low-income families in our community.
As our school continues to grow, we are working hard to finalize the construction and prepare the building to welcome more children. However, completing this project requires resources, financial support, and helping hands.
That is why we are inviting passionate volunteers from around the world to join us in this meaningful mission!
Would you like to use your time, skills, energy, and creativity to help build a school and transform children's futures? We would be delighted to welcome you to our team.
You do not necessarily need professional construction experience to participate. We welcome volunteers who are enthusiastic, physically able to undertake their agreed tasks, willing to learn, and ready to work as part of a team. Volunteers with construction, masonry, carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, or other relevant skills are especially welcome.
All activities will depend on the project's current needs, your skills, and the guidance of our local team. Specialist and potentially hazardous work must only be carried out by appropriately qualified people.
Activities & Shift
As a School Construction and Renovation Volunteer, you will work alongside our local team and contribute to the daily activities needed to complete our new school.
Your activities may include:
Construction Support: Assisting with general construction activities under the guidance of our local team.
School Renovation: Helping improve and prepare different areas of the school building.
Painting and Decoration: Painting classrooms, adding colors, and helping create a welcoming, attractive environment for children.
Cleaning and Preparation: Helping clean and organize the construction site and prepare school spaces for use.
Finishing Activities: Assisting with suitable finishing tasks to help us bring the project closer to completion.
Community Support: Working together with our local team to contribute to a project that will benefit children and families in our community.
Working Schedule
Volunteers will generally participate in construction activities from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM, depending on the project's needs and local arrangements.
This schedule allows you to contribute meaningfully to the school project while also having time to experience Tanzanian culture, discover local life, and explore the surrounding community.
