Program Details
Our volunteer program focuses on creating a one-week baking workshop aimed at producing a "CajitaRepostera" with different types of sweets: cookies, brownies, alfajores, merengues, etc. This is where we need your knowledge and creativity to finish creating this project.
Upon completion, we hope to explore different recipes that allow us to play with sizes, ingredients, flavors, and the style of this "CajitaRepostera". It is important to mention that we are not looking for fine patisserie, but rather good-quality homemade pastries for a tasty afternoon snack.
Activities & Shift
There is no fixed schedule, but there is a weekly number of hours that we can organize and distribute together at the start of the volunteering.
The first activity will be to collaboratively propose a Baking Workshop. To visualize the week, we will search for the products and materials needed for its realization. In this proposal I would like to discuss:
- The recipes we will learn
- The ingredients with their quantities, the utensils and machines we will need
- The days and times we will meet to carry out the Workshop
The second activity will be to take photographs with some background or nice presentation of our products, using our cell phones to have an album of products to offer.
And above all, to hear your opinions and visions, your creative ideas or even another path for this project.
Rules
Maintain constant contact, as we live in a somewhat remote area away from the main roads. If you go for a walk or stroll, it is important to let us know, as there isn’t enough signage.
Smoking is not allowed, neither in the cabin (because of the odor) nor outside (due to risk of forest fires).
Take care of the cabin's physical space and our flora and fauna environment that surrounds us. Treat every person and living being in our community with respect and kindness.
Enjoy the teaching process, nature and Chiloé!
