Program Details

We are a women's wellness retreat centre that is opening from scratch after taking over a hotel that had previously been focussed on corporate events and weddings. It is a beautiful place being reborn as a women's hotel in the heart of the Palatinate Wine Region

Activities & Shift

This can be flexible but our most common schedule is 9-1 followed by family style lunch and then the person is free, and this would be 5 days work for 7 days stay...we would have more than one of you...so days and times would be staggered to ensure full coverage as we go through the soft relaunch of the hotel

Rules

Sanssouci Palatina is a women’s wellness hotel and retreat centre, FLINTA-owned and operated, and is LGBTQ+ friendly.

We like to think of this space as a home, and Volunteers are a part of our household and community rhythm.
We want this to be a warm, interesting and welcoming place to live and work, and that depends upon everyone treating each other, paying guests and the property with respect.

The same agreements apply to everyone who lives and works here.

Sanssouci Palatina Volunteer Agreements

The basic volunteer exchange deal

Our standard volunteer agreement is:

4 hours of volunteer work per day
5 days per week
in exchange for 7 days of room and board

This means two days each week are normally free from scheduled volunteer work.

Individual schedules may vary according to hotel operations, events, weather and the type of work being undertaken. Any significant change should be discussed rather than simply assumed.

Trial period
The first week of every volunteer stay is considered a trial period, during which everyone involved can get to know one another. After this week, we will hold a shared discussion to determine whether all parties wish to continue the assignment and to agree on the exact duration of the stay.

Leaving the Community

We hope every volunteer has a wonderful experience here.

However, volunteering at Sanssouci Palatina depends upon these basic agreements being respected.
Serious harassment, violence, theft, deliberate damage, significant safety violations or behaviour that threatens guests or members of the community may result in somebody being asked to leave immediately.

For ordinary problems, we will normally talk first and try to find a reasonable solution.
