My time in Morocco will be remembered as one of my favourite trips. The hostel is located in a nice central spot in the town, close to many cafes and shops and there's a nice shortcut to the beach :) The rooftop is perfect for meeting other travellers and to create fun activities together. Unfortunately Simo was in Canada during my stay so we didn't get to meet but he was always easy to reach when we needed him. There was a few speed bumps along the way during my month there but I would definitely come back to the surf camp if I ever get the chance:)

I had such a wonderful experience volunteering at the surf camp! From the very beginning, I felt welcomed and comfortable. The tasks were simple and easy to manage, and everything was clearly explained, so it was easy to settle into the daily routine. What I enjoyed the most was the atmosphere. I stayed at Hakunamatata for 4 weeks and really wish I could have stayed longer. Simo and Sarah are so nice and welcoming!! Unfortunately Simo had to leave to Canada after my first week. He still made sure everyone was comfortable from afar tho:) You could really tell he cared about his volunteers. The working hours were super fair and work in general was pretty chill. The overall vibe of the hostel is so nice, chill and easygoing.
I could have not imagined a better experience than this. Hakunamatata is a time I will never forget. Thank you Simo for giving me a second home 😙💗

This has been the best volunteering experience I've done so far! Simo has been amazing, immediately making me feel at home since I arrived, as well as all of the other volunteers. There was always clear communication about the tasks and expectations, and all are easily manageable. The volunteers have a separate space with everything we need, and we spent most of the time on the beautiful rooftop hanging out, surfing, and exploring the town/nearby towns. This is the perfect place to relax and chill, but there's always activities/ pop up markets/souks going on so you'll never be bored :)

I couldn't have had a better first volunteering experience! I was the social media volunteer which involved creating and posting content for the Instagram. The role was very flexible and allowed for lots of creativity. Aside from the volunteering, the energy at the surf camp truly made this experience so special. Simo is incredibly kind and welcoming, and all the other volunteers were lovely as well. Breakfast was delicious, I joined in on surf lessons and jam sessions, and spent lots of time hanging out on the rooftop. It felt like a family and I hope to come back soon!
