Program Description – Tham Ma Pass Community Education & Tourism Project
This program combines community education, cultural exchange, and sustainable tourism development at Tham Ma Pass, Ha Giang.
What we expect from you:
Teaching: Teach English to local children from 16:30 to 18:00, Tuesday to Sunday. Monday is your day off.
Tourism Communication Practice: From 9:00 AM, take turns according to the volunteer schedule to support local children in practicing English communication with international tourists at Tham Ma Pass. This is an opportunity for children to build confidence and develop practical communication skills in a real tourism environment.
Marketing & Branding: Spend approximately one hour per day supporting Tham Ma Retreat's marketing, branding, and international customer outreach.
Community Living: Keep your accommodation and shared spaces clean, respect local culture, maintain a friendly attitude, and fulfill the responsibilities agreed upon before joining the program.
What you can expect from us:
You will work with Class On The Clouds and our local operating partner at Tham Ma Retreat. This is a community-based education initiative developed in coordination with the local authorities of Pho Bang Commune, aiming to equip children at Tham Ma Pass with practical English and tourism communication skills.
We provide a supportive environment where you can share your knowledge, connect with local communities, experience daily life in the mountains, and contribute to a more sustainable tourism model.
We value commitment, teamwork, cultural respect, and genuine community engagement more than perfect teaching experience.
