Program Details

About the Project:
We are launching a brand-new eco-ethno tourism camp in the breathtaking mountains of Kyzyl-Unkur, Kyrgyzstan! Our goal is to create a unique space where nature, traditional culture, and sustainable tourism come together. We are looking for enthusiastic travelers to help us build this dream project from the very beginning.
What You Will Do:
As a volunteer, you will be hands-on with creating our camp. Your main tasks will include:
• Building light eco-cottages and wooden structures.
• Constructing small bridges across mountain paths.
• Decorating, beautifying, and arranging the camp area.
No prior construction experience is required! The most important things we value are a passion for helping, an open heart, and a genuine interest in tourism, storytelling, and local culture. We will guide you and work together as a team.
Working Hours & Schedule:
• 25–26 hours per week (spread across the week, leaving you plenty of time to explore the mountains).
What We Provide (Accommodation & Food):
• Accommodation: You will live close to nature in comfortable tents on-site, or we will arrange a cozy stay in a local house nearby to experience genuine village life.
• Food: Food in Kyrgyzstan is amazing, and we take great care of our team! Delicious, authentic lunch and dinner are fully provided by us every day.
The Experience & Cultural Exchange:
This is not just a work exchange; it is a deep cultural immersion. In your free time, you will get:
• Exciting horse riding excursions through breathtaking mountain landscapes.
• Daily language practice and interactive cultural exchange.
• A real look into traditional Kyrgyz daily life, unique customs, and long-standing hospitality.
Come help us build something beautiful in the mountains! 💚

Activities & Shift

A typical day for our volunteers looks like this:

• Morning (09:30 - 13:00): We start our day when the mountain air is fresh. We gather for a quick meeting and work for about 3.5 hours on building light cottages, constructing wooden bridges, or arranging the camp territory.
• Lunch (13:00 - 14:00): We all come together to enjoy a hearty, traditional Kyrgyz lunch.
• Afternoon Work & Free Time (14:00 - 15:30): We finish the remaining 1.5 hours of the volunteer shift. By 15:30, the volunteer work is officially over for the day!
• Late Afternoon & Evening: While we finish our daily work around 17:00–18:00, you have total freedom to relax and explore. You can go horse riding, practice languages, learn about local customs, or rest.
• Night: We gather again for a delicious dinner, sharing stories and enjoying the peaceful mountain atmosphere under the stars.
Our schedule is very flexible and relaxed, ensuring you have plenty of time to experience the freedom of the mountains! 💚

Rules

• Respect for Local Culture: We are an ethno-cultural project. We expect volunteers to be respectful of Kyrgyz traditions, hospitality, and local village life.
• Eco-Friendly Mindset: Our camp is in the pristine mountains of Kyzyl-Unkur. We maintain a strict "leave no trace" policy. No littering, and we care for the nature around us.
• Team Spirit & Proactivity: You don't need construction experience, but you do need enthusiasm! We love positive people who are ready to learn, help, and share their stories.
• Safety First: Building cottages and bridges involves physical work. Volunteers must follow safety guidelines when handling tools and working on-site.
• Shared Spaces: Since we live in tents or local houses, keeping living and dining areas clean is a team effort.
• Alcohol & Behavior: Moderate and responsible behavior is required. We want to maintain a safe, family-like, and welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
