From the first day, I was placed into an event without any prior training. It left me feeling overwhelmed. I also felt disrespected when my experience was dismissed and I received criticism from the host. The living conditions in the basement were difficult, with no natural light or proper ventilation. I suggest improving communication be more aligned and that dialogue be the way to adjust such points. The hostel focused on financial struggles rather than its growth vision was concerning. I did enjoy the sauna. Due to the discomfort and sense of unease I experienced. I left sooner.

Hello again Jazmin,

I remember the day we had our interview, a 2 hour call! My longest interview yet! I was so excited to have you as part of the team.

The Homegrown fest on 4/19, this is the event you mention you had started your training. However, at the end of May you were asking how to switch a keg?

I had gotten use to this response, "No one showed me how to do this", anytime me or your overseeing manager had asked why something was not done while you were on shift. Here at Bunk+Brew, we do not accept having a staff member weaponize incompetence. We work as a community, where everyone pulls their weight.

On numerous occasions, your overseeing manager and myself found ourselves needing to explain the importance to you to why we weren't able to find you on shift. Whenever we deal with a mistake by staff member more than once, we do try to draw the bigger picture on how it affects the hostel (Financial struggles). I find it shows the staff how a true working community should function and how one individual can affect the entire collective.

I am deeply sorry you ever felt disrespected here. However I think your own actions within the LFBTQ+ community, here, is what drove other members to not respect you.

Last but not least,

The basement, as I had mentioned services the basic needs of a bunk and space to put personal belongings. We are certainly not offering a penthouse suite. However, we do provide an entire upstairs lounge for staff only, includes couches, tv, Xbox and WII. As well as a piano, expresso maker, private community office, with all the supplies a staff member doing school would need and a fenced-in outdoor patio with a fire pit. I do recall you making good use out of this space. However, I have taken your complaints into consideration and will do what I can to provide the absolute best accommodations for our community here, at Bunk+Brew.

Sincerely,

(as I'm sure you could guess)

Izzy.
