Program Details

At Blloku Vibes Hostel, we offer volunteers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in hostel management and hospitality while discovering Tirana and Albanian culture.

We are a female-only hostel located in the lively Blloku neighbourhood, close to restaurants, cafés, bars, and the main attractions of the city.

We are looking for friendly, responsible, and motivated female volunteers with previous hospitality or customer service experience who enjoy interacting with people and creating a welcoming atmosphere for travellers.

In exchange for your help, we provide accommodation in a shared volunteer room and towels. You will have the opportunity to meet travellers from different countries, improve your communication skills, and gain practical experience in reception and hostel operations.

We value teamwork, reliability, respect, and a positive attitude. Our goal is to create a comfortable environment where both guests and volunteers feel welcome.

Activities & Shift

Volunteers are expected to help approximately 28 hours per week, organised into 3.5 working days (three 8-hour shifts and one 4-hour shift).

The main responsibility is reception, with occasional light housekeeping when needed.

Daily activities include:

• Welcoming guests and assisting with check-ins and check-outs.
• Managing reservations and answering guest messages.
• Providing information about Tirana, local attractions, restaurants, transportation, and activities.
• Helping guests with questions and everyday requests.
• Keeping the reception area and common spaces clean and organised.
• Assisting with light housekeeping tasks when necessary.
• Communicating with the management team about guest requests or any issues.

The usual reception shift is from 15:00 to 23:00. The schedule is organised in advance, and volunteers are expected to arrive on time and complete their assigned shifts.

Good communication, organisation, and the ability to work independently are important for this position.

Rules

To ensure a comfortable and respectful environment for everyone, we expect our volunteers to follow these rules:

• This position is exclusively for female volunteers, as Blloku Vibes Hostel is a female-only accommodation.
• Be punctual, responsible, and committed to your agreed working schedule.
• Treat guests, colleagues, and other volunteers with kindness and respect.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in shared spaces.
• Respect guests' privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Follow hostel procedures for check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and guest communication.
• Inform management in advance about any problems, absences, or schedule changes.
• Avoid using your phone for personal matters during working hours.
• Be respectful of quiet hours and other volunteers sharing the accommodation.
• Do not invite external guests into the volunteer accommodation without management approval.

We are looking for someone who takes this opportunity seriously, enjoys hospitality, and understands the importance of creating a safe and welcoming environment for our guests.
