At Puerto Alto Hostel we offer a cultural exchange experience in a natural Caribbean setting. We are looking for responsible and proactive volunteers who want to contribute their skills to our maintenance and facilities improvement projects. The program includes up to 30 hours per week, a minimum of two days off, and a typical stay of 30 days. We provide accommodation, three meals per day, and benefits at partner establishments, subject to availability.
Activities include painting, carpentry, gardening, minor repairs, space adaptation, and supervised support in light construction projects, according to the volunteer's skills. The usual commitment is 6 hours per day, 5 days a week, with 2 days off. The schedules are organized weekly according to the hostel's needs. All activities are carried out under the coordination of the maintenance supervisor.
We expect punctuality, responsibility, initiative, and a positive attitude toward teamwork. It is mandatory to respect the house rules, take care of tools and facilities, and keep shared spaces clean. Safety is a priority: it is not permitted to perform dangerous or specialized tasks without the appropriate training and authorization. Any absence or issue must be communicated promptly. All volunteers must know and accept Puerto Alto's internal policies.
