Program Details

Le Relais des Hautes-Gorges is a small nature lodge at the gateway to the Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie National Park, in Charlevoix. Twenty rooms, a Nordic spa with sauna, forest trails and real Québec winters. We're a small, friendly team rebuilding the place with care.

Our volunteer program runs all year; tasks simply change with the seasons. Minimum stay is one month, and longer stays are welcome: you can stay into the spring.

What we offer:
- A private room in Le Montagnard, our staff house
- Basic pantry staples provided (milk, butter, flour, spices, condiments). Meals are not included: you cook for yourself, and sometimes the housemates cook together. It\'s up to everyone to decide how they want to share the kitchen.
- Access to the spa, sauna, trails and snowshoes
- A company car available if you hold a valid Canadian or Québec driver\'s license (ideally 25 or older)

Activities & Shift

About 16 to 18 hours a week, leaving lots of free time to enjoy the region.

This winter:
- Snow clearing: concrete steps, paths to the spa and rooms, balconies, the dining room terrace and every emergency exit
- Spa upkeep, including putting the hot tub cover on and off for guests
- Keeping firewood stocked and the fireplaces clean
- Preparing the outdoor fire pit on busy weekends
- Light help with room turnovers when groups come in

After the snow melts, tasks shift to spring work: landscaping and getting the grounds ready for the summer season.

Rules

You'll share Le Montagnard with two team members, so you should enjoy living with others. It's a big house on a big property: when you need your own space and some quiet, there's plenty of room for it.

We're looking for someone autonomous, reliable and comfortable with cold, snow and physical work. Arrival as soon as possible, ideally before December 4.
