Being at the hostel Nomad was an experience. I wouldn't believe what they say or promise. Although it could've been worse, the host acts really weird and immature; he stresses about everything and tries to make a big deal about work even when it's not. There's a lot of sexist comments and gossip. I felt like I was in high school all over again. Staff was pretty great though, I believe that's what makes the hostel truly welcoming and with a nice environment, which the host will make uncomfortable when he visits, (even guests noticed). I would NOT recommend at all, they only try to benefit from people

I wouldn't recommend going to this hostel for following reasons. First, the owner doesn't listen to the employees. Even though his ideas didn't make sense, he didn't accept our suggestions and points. Although he appears friendly, he often blamed us for things that's not our fault. It was quit hard to accept such unreasonable situations. Second, he often mocks volunteer members. He often ridiculed us even private matters, that was completely meaningless and uncomfortable. Considering the fact that several staffs quit during my 2 months stay, they need some changes.

Duohousing is a place for those who really want to practice English and develop skills. The house is excellent and the space is dedicated to the staff as well, but the reception activities are at a professional level and sometimes a little stressful. The team is wonderful and always available to answer any questions. I loved the experience though.

The hostel has so much potential. It's charming and homey. The location is more than ideal with walking access to all of Washington's main attractions. The owner and person who gave birth to the idea of the hostel is Saša. He's humble, polite, and unproblematic. He's hands off for the most part. Saša shares ownership with his wife, Marija, who does her part in making the hostel what it is. He also shares ownership with his partner AZ. He has allowed AZ to be the “face” of the hostel. AZ's leadership skills are still being developed. Unfortunately, I could not submit to his underdeveloped leadership as he wished.

Pros Nice area, groceries twice a week, you can get paid if you work more than 5 shifts Cons Honestly the living conditions were really disappointing there were holes in the walls and in the shower, there were spider webs in the bathroom and the room was dirty when I got there. There's a lot more that happened if your a girl I definitely think you should reach out to me before you come here
