I am very thankful to Renata and her team at the hostel-hostel for a great volunteering experience...I felt very welcome = like at home there...everyone was really helpful and supportive... I totally appreciate the trust, what I got from Renata = owner of the hostel - even with my very basic Portuguese... I had a great time (which includes comfortable accommodation, good breakfast and amazing complimentary sunset-trip, ) and I learnt a lot there...if your are looking for the unforgettable positive volunteering experience, the hostel - hostel is the right place, where you get it:-)

The hostel is the place to breathe, the environment is calm and the crowd is more family. My stay was great, Renata is an amazing person, we had many conversations, she respected all the schedules and was always available. João Pessoa has many places to be explored, there is a lot of local culture.

It's the third time I return to the hostel, and there's something special about this place. ❤️ The host, who has already become a friend, the super fair exchange, the wonderful facilities, and, above all, the friendships I have built here make all the difference. My experience as a volunteer at the hostel was simply incredible! ❤️ It was days full of learning, exchanging experiences, resilience, and a true cultural immersion. I had the opportunity to get to know João Pessoa better, its local culture and special people who made this journey unforgettable. Renata, my host, was wonderful and made all the difference in this experience. My first volunteering experience could not have been better. Manaíra Hostel became my home in no time and taught me lessons I will carry with me for life. Quiet tasks, an excellent breakfast and a very welcoming team. Special thanks to the host Renata, who always made herself available to help the volunteers and to make the stay as pleasant as possible. ❤️

The hostel was more than a stay; it became a home. All the staff at the guesthouse are mega attentive, proactive and kind, caring for volunteers just as guests. Working at the reception in the afternoon shift I met loyal guests of the house and was able to develop hobbies, study, cook, and tour from the historic center with periodic cultural events to João Pessoa's most famous beaches, besides visiting Campina Grande during São João celebrating my birthday with the team. Shout-out to Renata, a radiant woman, strong and exemplary mother; I wish her continued success and I’ll miss you already!

Volunteering at Manaíra Hostel gave me a very calm month! Renata, Selma and Nagib are always available to answer questions, and the 8-hour shifts allow you to have more free time. The reception tasks are quite easy, I was always there in the afternoon. However, it's a hostel with a guesthouse vibe and 99% of the guests are Brazilian, so if you're looking for a more lively or busy environment or to practice other languages, you might miss these points.
