Volunteering at the hostel was very fun! My position consisted of cleaning 3 hours a day with one day off a week and tasks were very straight forward and easy. They host bar crawls every night so if you're looking for a social vibe this is a good spot for you. I was looking for something a little more lowkey so I asked to be moved from the hostel to the staff apartment and Bartul was very accommodating. Dragana, Richardo and Adam were lovely people to work with! On free days I went to the local beaches. You could visit other islands pretty easily by ferry and there's lots of night life

Overall this was an amazing experience! Would 100% recommend. When I arrived Bartul explained exactly what was required of me, and if I had any questions he was very responsive to my messages or calls! As the pub crawl leader I ended up staying in the hostel with guests, this was super fun and I met heaps of people, but there is also another house where I know other volunteers were staying. The job is very very simple, you just meet everyone and take them to 2 bars, so you're 'working' from roughly 9-12, but usually you'll want to stay out with everyone because you've made friends!

I really treasured being able to spend time on the beautiful island of Hvar and I met some wonderful people at the hostel. The schedule and responsibilities are consistent, easy to manage, and exactly as described. There aren't many volunteers at the hostel so it instead gives you more a peek into the local dynamics and a rare opportunity to spend time with people living in the area. I really appreciated that aspect, though it does feel more like a job and less like community-based hostel volunteer opportunities I've had before.

My stay here was nothing but amazing! Bartul was so accommodating especially since I was sick for the first part of my stay. The work is manageable and everyone is so nice. You have time to go to the beach and explore as well. Hvar is a beautiful place with lots to do. I got to join the pub crawls and boat parties where I met so many people. I 100% recommend volunteering here especially as a solo female traveler.

The housekeeping job was straightforward and you get busy enough that the time goes by quickly. Bartul and the hostel team were really helpful and sweet while I was there (shout out to Ricardo, Dragana and Adam!) The staff apartment is about 5 minutes away from the hostel and it was super comfortable, but you have to make an extra effort to meet other people. I recommend getting together with the other volunteers and joining the pub crawls! You don't get much choice as to when you have days off, but the sun sets so late you can really enjoy the island after the shift.

I volunteered at Hostel Villa Zorana for one week doing housekeeping and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the work was organized, and the atmosphere was really social and positive. I also had enough free time to enjoy Hvar and meet amazing people. The pub crawl was fun, straightforward, and overall a good experience. Bartul was laid-back and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. My main issue was that the hostel itself wasn't very social at all. which made running a pub crawl difficult. There was no music, drinks weren't provided, and there weren't many games or activities besides the ones I brought myself. Since I was also the only pub crawl volunteer working at a time, I had to carry most of the social energy and keep everyone engaged. I'm very social, so I was able to make it fun most of the time. overall solid.
