It was okay! The place is cozy, clean, and well located. The hosts were initially friendly, and the tasks were easy. The point to leave as feedback is the stinginess with breakfast (around R$3.00 per volunteer). The quantity is insufficient, and well below what is usually offered in 30-hour volunteer programs. The sense is one of scarcity, as they try to save cents. There is noticeable food oversight, with concerns that volunteers might take something from the guests' coffee leftovers. Salt and sugar are also regulated. This attitude is indelicate, unnecessary, and devalues the volunteer.

We are saddened that your experience has been frustrated because of meals... When you go to buy your breakfast you will see that R$ 3,00 doesn't even cover a cup of coffee, and you will be ashamed of what you wrote. I ask you to reflect on the true spirit of volunteering so that you are not asked to withdraw early from your application (as happened in your previous volunteering), avoiding harsh evaluations that harm your own journey. Good luck on your journey.

The experience in Ilhabela was incredible. The place is really very beautiful, with a lot to do. The guesthouse is well located with several beaches nearby, a bus stop, and a small market. The schedule is flexible and the space for volunteers is very welcoming, comfortable, and clean. Amauri and Jana are calm; they are always available to teach the tasks that are simple and to answer any questions. (Fred is a sweetheart 🐶) I believe the only thing that could be improved is the breakfast, which is quite simple and in small portions. And perhaps provide basic kitchen items such as salt, sugar, and oil.

We deliver as agreed upon accepting the application; our coffee area is simple and perhaps the same as what we drink at home, enough to meet the needs of most... however the quantity is relative to each person... we offer a small kitchenette equipped with basic materials for food preparation exclusive to the staff; the responsibility to keep it clean is on the volunteers (which did not occur on your last day).
Spices, seasonings, etc. for meal preparation are a matter of personal taste and at each person's expense.

The hostel is the ideal place for those seeking silence, simplicity and nature 🍃— far from noise, parties and alcohol.

Even though there are no more bikes, you can reach the center by bus or a 1-hour walk.

Amauri, the owner of the house, has tact and diplomacy to deal with volunteers in a lighter way. For those who work remotely 💻, I recommend talking to Jana before confirming, as it is she who determines and supervises the schedule and the tasks of the volunteers.

Thanks for the experience! Gratitude 🙏🏼
