Program Details
Koningsteen is a residential retreat center surrounded by nature in the Belgian countryside. Throughout the year, we welcome international teachers, facilitators and groups who organize retreats, workshops and training programs focused on well-being, awareness and personal development.
Alongside hosting these visiting groups, we also organize our own Kolibrie Retreats. These retreats invite participants to slow down and reconnect with themselves through yoga, meditation, breathwork, conscious movement, creativity, music and time in nature.
As a residential volunteer, you become part of the small international team that helps bring these experiences to life. You support the daily care of the center, help us prepare welcoming spaces and contribute to the warm and peaceful atmosphere our guests experience.
We are especially interested in volunteers with experience in music, yoga, meditation, breathwork, conscious movement or other well-being practices. Depending on your background and the needs of the center, there may be opportunities to share your talents with the volunteer community or contribute to some of our own retreat activities.
This is more than a place to stay while travelling. We ask for a minimum commitment of two months so you can become familiar with the rhythm of the center, build genuine connections and become a trusted member of our community.
In exchange for your contribution, we provide accommodation, three healthy vegetarian meals a day, Wi-Fi, laundry facilities and two days off each week. You will live close to nature, meet people from different countries and have space for reflection, personal practice and meaningful connection.
Activities & Shift
You will contribute 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, with two days off. Activities may include preparing guest rooms and retreat spaces, housekeeping, light gardening, creative projects, painting, basic maintenance and support in the kitchen. Shifts depend on the retreat schedule and may sometimes include mornings, evenings or weekends. We divide tasks according to the needs of the center and, whenever possible, your interests and experience.
Rules
At our center, we strive to give our very best — and we welcome volunteers who bring the same dedication and heart. From the moment you arrive, this place becomes your home: a space where we genuinely care for one another and value the love and attention we put into every detail of our shared work.
Our kitchen serves mostly organic, vegetarian meals, lovingly prepared with fresh ingredients. Sharing meals together is a meaningful part of life at the center. Volunteers are expected to join us on time for all meals, except on your designated days off.
We offer a smoke-free and drug-free environment to support clarity, health, and mutual respect.
If you're seeking to be part of an intentional and active community — and you have a sincere desire for personal growth — we’d love to hear from you. This is more than a place to stay; it's an invitation to a self-transformative living and learning experience.
However, if you're simply looking for accommodation while traveling through or visiting nearby cities, our center may not be the right fit.
