Shelter Assistant- Teaching
The experience
Our social project is a grass roots safe home for women who are victims of sexual and domestic violence and abuse. It is the first safe home of its kind in Kenya where women and their children can not only find immediate safety from an abusive situation but can stay for a longer period of time to learn new skills that will enable them to find jobs and become independent. We are centered in the Naivasha and Maui Mahiu region of Kenya.

Activities & Shift
All this programs and activities will assist the residents and the house towards becoming self-sustaining. Our aim is to have a shelter that uses Eco-friedly,self-sustaining products and that uses the farm as the main way to sustain the shelter needs and producing for most of it own needs. We have resently introduced permerculture and verticle gardening. Our power sauce is solar and biogas. We also have a good water collection system though we would benefit more from a bore/water well if we can find funding for it. Recycling is essential.
Rules
We expect that our volunteers fit into the regular dairy operations and schedule of our survivors.
