I had an amazing time at the farm! John and Linda are kind hosts with interesting stories to tell, and I feel as though I learned a lot from both of them. The farm itself is also a learning experience- the way the business is run is incredibly inspiring to both entrepreneurs and those interested in sustainability. The work felt well balanced with free time, and feeding the animals at the end of each day was a treat. Linda's amazing home cooked meals after that were also a treat :) I would definitely recommend this place to someone who likes to learn and try new things!

My time spent at the farm was an incredibly grounding and rewarding experience. From the moment I arrived I felt welcome, John and Lina are wonderful hosts who take interest in and make time for volunteers. The work itself was hands-on, from sorting and peeling the chestnuts, to feeding the animals. There's something satisfying about spending your days outdoors, connecting with nature, and contributing to the farm, while simultaneously learning about agriculture, health and well being, and sustainable farming. This was a great first experience on my volunteer journey!

John and Linda are excellent hosts that really go above and beyond to make sure you feel welcomed and settled in. Their passion for the farm really shows. They gave plenty of advice for the local area and transport, plus home cooked dinners every night. The work alternates daily so was varied when I was there. The farm itself is beautiful and it's so easy to immerse yourself in the nature around. This was my first Worldpackers experience so I didn't know what to expect but the 2 weeks I was there were a real highlight of my travels!

I had a really good time at the farm for the two and a half weeks I spent there. It's a perfect place if you're looking to slow down and reconnect with nature and it's located in a good spot to explore the surrounding area ( as long as you have a car ) You get to learn a lot about the farm and the production process which is fun but also demanding at times, especially during harvest season. Overall, it's a unique and beautiful place and I would definitely recommend it.

My experience at the farm Brea was incredible! The work is so easy, the people are welcoming and so nice and the food is amazing. 🤩 You're out in the nature with lots of animals, stunning sunsets and night sky's! I felt so welcome by everyone, it's a home away from home! I can't recommend it enough!

Ce fut un plaisir d'avoir Leonie avec nous à Chestnut Brae. Elle sourit toujours et est facile à vivre, de plus elle est proactive et toujours désireuse de s'impliquer avec les autres membres de l'équipe pour mener à bien une tâche. Elle est intelligente et une excellente joueuse d'équipe, elle comprend facilement les tâches qui lui sont confiées. Nous recommandons vivement Leonie, et elle va nous manquer à la ferme; c'est une excellente compagnie.

The farm it's truly a special place! John and Linda are wonderful hosts and I felt so welcome. They are open minded, kind hearted and truly caring about the wellbeing of all the volunteers. I am so happy I went during harvest season, as it was great to learn something completely new! (know that it can be hard work at times) One of the highlights was the daily dinners with beautiful meals and great conversation. I am so grateful for this time and wish I could've stayed longer! An experience I'll carry with me forever. Thank you John and Linda!

Aurora était une excellente collègue d'équipe à la ferme et a participé à toutes les activités avec enthousiasme.
Nous aimions l'avoir à la ferme et lui souhaitons bonne chance pour la suite de son voyage.
La période de récolte est toujours une étape difficile pour tous les agriculteurs; Aurora s'est immédiatement impliquée dans toutes les tâches.
C'était aussi amusant de découvrir quelques secrets de Norvège.

My time at the farm was magical to say the least! If you go during harvest (Australian Autumn), expect a lot of work! Can be a bit much if you suffer from any physical stress. Such a beautiful place and I doubt you could find anything similar in any part of the world. John and Linda have added so many cool, peculiar things to their farm. Always something new to find! John and Linda themselves are two of the nicest, most open minded people I've ever met! There will always be something interesting to talk about with them at Dinner. An experience I'll carry with me for the rest of my life!

This was my first ever Worldpackers experience and introduction to farming which I'm so glad I did. John and Linda make you feel apart of their family with how welcoming they are and the sit down dinners each night. The tasks were very straightforward such as hand picking, peeling and grading chestnuts along with helping out at the farm shop and feeding the animals. Would 100% recommend this experience to anyone 😊😊😊

Linda et John sont des hôtes aimables et accueillants qui veulent clairement que les bénévoles se sentent chez eux. C'était ma première expérience de bénévolat, j'étais donc nerveux à l'idée d'exprimer des préoccupations au début. La cuisine des bénévoles, cependant, était dans un état très mauvais et insalubre, ce qui rendait la cuisine difficile et stressante. Une fois que cela a été porté à leur attention, ils l'ont nettoyée immédiatement, ce que j'ai apprécié. Bien que je puisse voir que cela pourrait être un bel endroit pour faire du bénévolat, le manque de normes d'hygiène maintenues pendant mon séjour est devenu un défi important et m'a finalement conduit à partir plus tôt.
