I absolutely adored this volunteering experience!! It is an amazing opportunity if you're looking into improving your Spanish whilst living in a peaceful beachtown.
The hours go from 10am-5pm/3pm-10pm/ 5pm-00am, which may seem scary at first but it really is easy work. Ruben wants the guesthouse to be calm so this place isn't your best option if you want a party hostel.
As for the accomodation, you will be sleeping in a mixed dorm of max 4 volunteers with a sharee bathroom. The guesthouse is really comfortable Thank you Ruben as well as Saul, Gaby (volunteer buddies) and Mari for everything!!

Had an amazing month in Almería staying a the guest house and could not recommend it enough. The tasks are very chill, the hours fully respected, and the host - Ruben - a kind and respectful person who makes sure that the volunteers have everything they need. I had plenty of time to explore Almería, and the location of the hostel is perfect for that. You'll be in the heart of the old town and right next to the main points of interest. Almería is a beautiful town with lots of cultural activities and affordable restaurants. Beach is only a 20min walk away. A calm and cultural experience.

This was my first volunteer program, and my experience at the guest house was really great. Ruben, the host and the other colleagues were very helpful, the hostel is nice and cozy. The tasks were easy and diverse, the shifts can change according to the number of volunteers, but the working hours and the number of days off are always respected. Almería is a beautiful city, with many things to see, and it has a friendly vibe. I am greatful for this experience, I would recommend it to anyone!

.My experience has been very good. Ruben is a person who cares about the well-being of the volunteers. The tasks are easy and we always know that someone can train the first few days. The hostel is very comfortable, we have a place for ourselves to have privacy with a kitchen and bathroom for us. I recommend it 100% and I would volunteer at the guest house Guest again. It would be good if they would listen more to the ideas of the guests and also the employees (or ask for it) and implement things to optimise them, which is also realistic. It's been a wonderful experience. I stayed in the hostel for a month, and it felt like home. Almería is a beautiful city and there is so much to see and do. Ruben and Mari are kind and caring. I highly recommend this experience :)

I stayed for 5 weeks at the guest house and overall had a really good time! THE PROS: the work was very simple and the working hours and schedule was very fair. Ruben, the host, was always available over WhatsApp for help/advice and seemed like a really nice guy. Simple breakfast food was also provided for the volunteers which was a really nice bonus. THE CONS: very little training was provided which made the first week a bit confusing. The sleeping arrangements weren't great (small and no natural light). Overall, I would recommend this experience. 4.5 *
