The Experience

We invite you to join our team. We have some fun projects to do, and we have a good group of young people here. Sometimes they go camping and hiking at Quartz Mountain State Park. We have tents, sleeping bags and transportation. We can teach you about building construction, painting, plumbing carpentry and electrical. No experience is necessary- just a willingness to learn. Students share a house together and cook and have good times together.

I stayed at the hostel for a short while, but it was beautiful nonetheless. The work varies and Jeff does his best to group you according to your skill level- but no experience is needed. It's the perfect place to gain experience and have fun. Sunny & Jeff are really kind hearted people who genuinely want you to feel welcomed. The town of Olustee is small but it has a lot of charm. It's not boring if you find things to do like: make friends with the locals and help with farm animals, visit the WPA Library, Bingo in Feb, feed the school goat, or head to the creek for some fishing. I'll be back!!

It was a good experience. I met a beautiful people and I learn so fast the lenguage. Maybe a little boring, we stay in a small village and all the afternons you have a lot of free hours. I think if someone like painting, writing... and search a place to disconnect is a good option. The tasks are simple: to reform Jeff's properties like painting, cleaning,... Is not a hard work.

The best thing about being here is the incredible people around you. If it's your first experience, I have no doubt that it's the best place to start. Jeff gives you an incredible confidence so that you are comfortable in that place. I am very grateful to have met such amazing people and I will never forget all the people I have met there. I am leaving happy knowing that I have formed a beautiful family. Both Jeff and Sunny are there for whatever you need. And I will definitely be back soon.

I spend a really good time at Jeff's place. It was my first time in USA and it couldnt have been better. He was always concerned that we could have fun and not get bored here. I met wonderful people and I had so much fun with all of them. The tasks are very easy. We were fixing a house, so almost every day we did something diferent. Plumbing, electricity, gardering, etc. But I mostly did painting. Jeff always provided us all the food that we need. Usually one day per week we worked in Altus, and the rest of the week we worked in the town, Olustee. I have many photos of Olustee in my profile!

I was here for 6 weeks and this was my first experience traveling alone and being in the US. We worked from 10am to 1-2pm and did mostly construction, painting, mowing lawns and cutting trees. I met very interesting and cool people here and had without a doubt one of the best times of my life. The accomodation is really good and you can buy your own food with money provided by Jeff. Olustee is a quiet and peaceful place but if you like doing things that depend more on people than on entertainment infrastructure you will have a great time here. I recommend this experience to every traveler. :)
