This was an amazing experience and it was my first time volunteering. the hostel is such a great spot and Barbara was a great host and supported me through the had task of learning Spanish. It is possible to succeed in this position not knowing a lot of Spanish but it was a very very difficult experience for me. The other volunteers and the locals we met were the greatest part of this experience for me. I made so many memories I will never forget and life long friendships! Las Galeras is an amazing town with so much to explore and learn.

Barbara is a really nice person, however, they do nothing to enhance your stay my first volunteering went nothing as I expected, if you want to explore by your own las galeras Samana, go for it. they exchange a bed for work that's it. We even had some small disagreements with people working at the hostel and I found myself stressed at times, she has someone managing the hostel. the schedule varied the first week but then I was there 1pm-5 almost everyday leaving you no time to leave las galeras to explore nearby towns I feel they should be mindful that you're there to travel.

I had a great time! The place was super cozy and I met super cool people which were guests in the hostel. When it was empty there was not much interaction. Working hours were 5 days a week for 4 hours, just reception and interacting with the guests which was a fair task and fun as well if you are outgoing. I love Las Galeras as well, its a small cute beach town where you can find time to relaxe, meet backpackers or locals and practise your spanish. Thank you for the experience :)

Hace un día que me fui y ya quiero volver. Las Galeras es un paraíso. Barbara y Franco se portaron super bien conmigo, es fácil comunicarse con ellos y cualquier cosa van a ayudarte. El trabajo es sencillo y el ambiente con los trabajadores es muy bueno también, el horario está bien organizado y tienes mucho tiempo libre para explorar la zona. Sin duda repetiria la experiencia!

Ser voluntaria a en este hostel fue un verdadero placer, disfrute mucho cada dia, conoci las playas mas bonitas de republica dominicana, hice muchos amigos, disfrute mi trabajo y aprendi mucho sobre diferentes culturas. El trabajo es muy simple, el resto de trabajadores son muy atentos y siempre listos para ayudarte de cualquier manera, el trabajo es relajado y facil de entender. Las galeras es un pueblo pequeño, pero perfecto para los amantes de la naturaleza, pienso que es importante hablar un español basico para sacarle mayor provecho a la experiencia. recomendiendo 100%

Esto era mi primera vez voluntario y la he disfrutado tanto. Franco y Barbara son amables y divertidos. Llegue en la temporada baja, me guste la tranquilidad y haya tenido mucho divertido con mis equipo y los huespues. Las Galeras tiene playas increible hermosa. Acaso fui alla cada noche para ver el atardecer. Que pena no puedo quedar mas tiempo porque tengo que volver a Canada por otro trabajo. Gracias Barbara y Franco por todos. Me encanta todos las partes de trabajo y explore las Galeras.

Esperienza unica e che consiglio di fare. La proprietaria è stata accogliente e mi ha fatto sentire come a casa dal primo giorno. Il lavoro si è svolto esattamente come da accordi presi prima della partenza. La location permette di stare in stretto contatto con la natura. Il mare, il sole e le spiagge de las Galeras sono un ricordo che porterò nel cuore per tutta la vita.

La mia esperienza presso the hostel è stata incredibilmente positiva, l'ostello è stato come una casa per me. Gli orari e le richieste di lavoro erano esattamente come descritte sulla pagina di presentazione e lo staff è stato disponibile e gentile sin dall'inizio. Ho avuto modo di conoscere persone fantastiche e migliorare notevolmente il mio spagnolo, consiglio questa struttura a chiunque stia cercando un'esperienza di immersione nella cultura locale e di grande contatto con la natura. Muchas gracias the hostel!!!
