No review could do this volunteer opportunity justice. In the first 5mins sat down with Ovick and getting excited for the next 3 weeks, we knew we'd feel right at home. Ovick is the kindest, friendliest, funniest man with THE BEST coffee skills EVER, missing our morning coffees so much. Although, his girls do outshine him. Engar is the kindest soul and his 3 kids are so cute and so fun to hang out and play with, and Omar took such good care of us and we miss her cooking already! The kids at the school are so sweet and the teachers all feel like friends! 3 weeks was not long enough! LOVE YOU!!

I couldn't recommend this experience more! I've had the most special time here in Klaten thanks to Ovick and his family, they welcomed me with open arms and made it feel like home. The teachers and staff at the school are all so kind and great to talk to/learn from! The students are magical and you feel so lucky to get to meet them. Everyone in Klaten treats you like you're one of their own and it is such a special place with amazing people, food, culture. Forever grateful to Ovick & his beautiful family for this opportunity to be part of their community❤️

This experience is a must do for anyone wanting to do a volunteer program, since everyone there is lovely, kind, supportive and caring people. Not only for the family, which is the best one that you bc Lidl ever imagine living with, but for the people in klaten. As they are all the kindest and most humble people you will ever meet. They welcome you with open arms, as if you were one of them. In addition to all of this, you will get to experience the culture and local life, ding several activities that will make you immerse in their life and appreciate what you have. I’d encourage everyone!!!!

Volunteering for three and a half weeks in Klaten, the school, at Ovick's home has been the best experience of my life. I have never felt so happy, welcomed, and fulfilled. His family is incredibly kind and made me feel at home from day one. the school to the children was such a beautiful experience, the kids are amazing, and both the classes and the teachers were wonderful and inspiring. I learned so much, not only about the school, but about life and gratitude. I'm leaving with a full heart and unforgettable memories. I already miss everything and can't wait to come back.❤️❤️❤️❤️

This was one of the best volunteering experiences I've ever had, for a number of reasons. The first is Ovick's wonderful family. From day one, I felt part of it. Playing with the little girls, going for a run with Ovick and going on family outings – such as trips to the seaside – was so special. As well as the family, the school is extremely well organised. Taking part in the lessons was great fun, as they were structured in a playful way. The children and teenagers were also really keen to learn English! I would definitely do it again, I miss them so much! 🫶

I had the most amazing month in Klaten the school at EFUN and living with Ovick and his family! All the teachers at EFUN were amazing, so welcoming and so much fun to teach with. I learnt so so much from them and all the students, about their lives and the Indonesian culture. Ovick and his family were such incredible hosts, always making sure we were comfortable, and we were always having a laugh together haha. They really felt like a second family. So if you're looking for a real local the school to meet some incredible people, this opportunity is perfect. I'd one hundred percent go back!

If you ever get the chance to spend time with Ovick and his family don't hesitate because it will be one of the best experiences you ever had! The two weeks I spent with them in Klaten were definitely too short and I will have to come back because it was so much fun. Not only does Ovick try to make your stay in Klaten as memorable and fulfilling as possible but the teachers and students at EGUN bring so much joy and energy into your day. This experience is perfect for really diving into a new culture and getting to know so many different people!

I arrived the school alone for my first solo trip and, as a woman, I was quite nervous at the beginning. But as soon as I got there, all my fears slowly disappeared. Klaten felt safe, with a close and welcoming community. Ovick's family was incredibly kind and made me feel at home, always present and helpful. Efun School is a happy place full of students of all ages and friendly teachers! This experience helped me connect with the local culture and reminded me how much good there still is in the world. I'm really grateful for this the school would highly recommend it to anyone!

If you are looking for an amazing Javanese cultural experience (with good coffee & durian) this is the best . Ovick is the type of person who will want to rip the shirt off of his back for you when you need it, he is genuinely one of the most inspiring people I have ever got the chance to know with a beautiful family, the school was fun at EFUN and the teachers work hard so the help is appreciated. If you want to see and da lot Yogyakarta is 40 mins by train, it's a interesting city. Oma's cooking was great as well, try to learn some Indonesian for her

I had a wonderful stay at Ovick's place and got to know really nice local people! We were welcomed by the family as a part of them, got a (for the local standards) really nice room and a-ma-zing food. Ovick made sure we were really taken care of and showed us around Klaten. the school itself was easy as we had conversations with the students and played games. I think I would have enjoyed getting more responsibility in maybe the school a full class, but this was also a really nice experience. Overall I really enjoyed my stay in Klaten and I would recommend it!
