I arrive to the guest house on march 2020, the whole experience was amazing, since my first day, Jé and Lu were wonderful hostels, both really kind and nice. The work incluid tasks like be at the reception point, cleaning and work at the garden. Is a really easy job, I never think about it like a real job, was more like be at your own house and keep it clean and tidy. The environment of the guest house is unique, is not just a hostel is a home for every traveller. Thanks for everything.

My experience at the guest house was amazing! I fell in love with Chapada and all its energy. Barbara is a beautiful person and a wonderful host. Everything at the hostel is very well organized, and she explains every detail with enormous patience. My experience at Mangamel was beautiful. It is a place with a very special energy that attracts very lovely people. Barbara is a wonderful, sweet, generous and respectful woman. As for the tasks, they mainly consist of cleaning and setting up the rooms. When there are few guests and fewer tasks, you can add a bit of gardening or maintenance. The working hours are excellent since they allow plenty of free time to get to know the wonders of Lençois. I am very grateful to Bárbara and my companion Rachel for these weeks shared and for their friendship 💚

The time I spent at the guest house was wonderful, I really felt at home. Barbara is very dear and cares about the well-being of the volunteers. My stay at the guest house left a strong impression on me, as I had the opportunity to meet beautiful people from other countries I hadn't expected to meet. Barbara was a wonderful host, she invited me to the dance classes in Lençóis, she introduced me together with Rodrigo and Gosia (under Buma's supervision, of course! 😅) to the preparation of a Polish dish that I loved, and she was always very clear and generous regarding the activities. The hostel is quite busy, so there is plenty to do. But I really enjoyed the exchange and the cozy little corner, and I felt a strong desire not to have left and to have stayed longer there.

I spent two amazing weeks at the guest house, the location is great, Barbara and Rodrigo welcomed me very well. It is a lot of work and the hours aren’t very flexible, but Barbara always seemed very open to me. We shared a room, common areas and the kitchen with the guests and that was essential for me to make friends, certainly one of the places most open to that, I made friends for life! Simply amazing!
