I had a great time! Lucy and Robert are both fun to hangout with and very communicative as hosts. This is a very laid back work trade location. You really can't beat it for chill days and something interesting going on every night. I made friends with so many locals, and even a few I feel like will be friends for years to come. If you love blues or live music this is an incredible experience. If you play any instruments I bet it even better. The town is also super small so even if you don't have a car you could spend a while here and not have any issues getting anywhere you needed to in town.

I really enjoyed my time at the hostel in Clarksdale. The work was simple, mainly housekeeping and cleaning, and the work hours were very fair. The work was very chill as I was the only volunteer. The owners, Robert and Lucy, are incredibly welcoming and kind, and have created such a fun and friendly atmosphere at their hostel. I would also highly recommend going during the juke joint festival, as you got to really see the town come to life then. If youre looking for a volunteering opportunity in a cozy small town in America, this is the place for you.

Andrea thank you so much for coming and giving Clarksdale a chance. We love to show people this really awesome small town in "less traveled" America. We appreciate all you did for us and I'm excited to see you soon in NOLA. Hope it all works out!

Rob and Lucy are the kindest, most open, welcoming and caring and funny people in the world. I am so grateful to have spent a month with you. I had the time of my life, a huge thank you for your warm welcome at the hostel and within your family and of course for the unforgettable memories. The hostel is great, beautifully decorated and is truly a heaven of peace. Clarksdale is such a warm and welcoming town, I really felt home. I can only recommend to anyone to go to Clarksdale, the hostel and volunteer at the hostel!
