The Exchange

Our center is one of the 100 meditation centres founded by the Burman monk Ottamathara, where people in difficulty (homeless, people with addictions, single parents, people with mental and physical problems) find refuge and hospitality for free, in a climate of total openness and joy, while meditators and volunteers from all over the world collaborate on existing projects or propose new ones. Everything Is for free!

Activities & Shift

We usually work in the morning until lunch, taking turns doing daily chores like cleaning and kitchen work, doing out door works like gardening, cutting wood and grass, building and repairing things, keeping the surrounding areas clean and so on. There can also be group activities like language training, and of course meditation and teaching.

At Thabarwa we live free from alcohol and any kind of drugs, and we try to live in harmony with nature, keeping a vegetarian and healthy diet.
