Isaac is so kind and chill with a passion for cocoa that is infectious. This is a good choice if you want a truly local experience and any food/plant nerds who are interested in the fascinating cocoa process. Learning about the fermentation was so cool and it was unique experience to stay with Isaac at his place. Allow lots of time for communication (over WhatsApp is best) as Isaac is busy and the time you come determines what you will be doing whether harvesting or fermenting. The coast of Oaxaca is hot and buggy, so come prepared, but the nearby beaches and local food are soooo worth it.

SUPER RECOMMENDED !!! What I had read in other reviews is completely true! When you finish your stay at Isaac's, you leave knowing not only that you have had a once in a lifetime experience, but that you have met a friend. it was the best part of my trip around Mexico and the work he is doing with such a precious and history-rich raw material is incredible!

I stayed with Isaac for a week and what can I say? It was a blast. He is an amazing host and he made my time in Puerto Angel super special by taking me to local spots, restaurants, beaches and Partys. Actually it didn't feel like work, more like staying with a friend. My tasks regarding the pictures for his Social Media were super chill and I could also learn a lot about cacao and meet local producers. I would highly recommend volunteering at the host. :)

Isaac is a very warm and welcoming person who cares about the people coming to his project. He let us stay with him and at the cocoa farm. The latter was a real highlight as we experienced nature really closely, especially when flying the drone there. He did everything to make us feel good and after getting to know him better became a real friend. Would recommend staying with him and hope we stay in contact, mate :)

Thanks Isaac for this great experience - the best of both worlds (social media & cocoa). It has truly been amazing to learn about cocoa and going to the farm together. We stayed 3 days in the nature with the family that plants the cocoa beans and 1 week in Zipolite with Isaac. The nature location is breathtaking as it is in the highlands with the most beautiful river (could be compared to a natural whirlpool). We traveled as a couple and Isaac made it very easy for us and let us have flexible working hours. At the same time we spent time with the 3 of us and explored the area on his motorbike.

It wasn't really what was agreed, I think Isaac was not prepared to receive this volunteer, the address is not up to date on Worldpackers, my first experience on the platform was much lower than I expected. however Isaac is a good person and the project seems to be very good, just the time was not ideal to receive a volunteer.

I enjoyed my stay with Isaac and his brother Gali (as well as with his parrot Goyo and dog Cosmo!). We had a lot of fun together, going out or just staying home playing chess or chilling with his friends. My work was to take photos and videos of chocolate and the process, I also helped with the social media content plan. It was very interesting to know the details of the process and learn how they make chocolate! Good luck with everything and give Goyo a big hug from me!)

Isaac is the most welcoming and warm person! I had a really nice week with him. The work is fun and interesting and Isaac is very flexible with the working times. He lives a 30 min drive out of Oaxaca but it's easy to get into the center if you want that. Overall Isaac was so helpful and friendly and I really recommend this wonderful experience!
