I loved my time at the hostel. Hours are good and Matias is very caring and helpful. There is lots of activities in the city! The beach is great and there are lots of cool sports to try. Food and accommodation was great, the team of employees are very sweet and welcoming. Felt at home and safe there! I would totally recommend this experience! And hope to come back one day!

The restaurant/hostel team are super lovely & really made me feel at home!! They recommended me lots of things to do / and try !! Iquique outside the season is very quiet so it can be hard to meet fellow travellers but overall I had a great experience!

My experience was brief since I only stayed 3 days as a volunteer. The work was calm and I had quite a bit of autonomy during my stay. What was most difficult for me were the conditions of the accommodation. The room was damp and since I have asthma I couldn't stay there. In addition, the kitchen did not have a stove to cook with and there was also no sink. You can ask for permission at the restaurant but since they are currently different owners it wasn't very comfortable.
Other than that, both Matias and the other volunteers were very kind to me.

Mi voluntariado en Iquique, como ayudante de cocina, fue una experiencia increíble. El anfitrión Matías fue muy acogedor y siempre fue amable en todo, Maye, Enrique, José y Ed, fueron compañeros increibles, lo que hizo que cada día fuera una oportunidad para aprender; las instalaciones eran cómodas y la ubicación, perfecta. El lugar es genial; Mi horario (12:30 p.m. a casi 6:00 p.m.) a veces dificultaba disfrutar de la ciudad, sus alrededores o hacer algo más, tener en cuenta que venimos de viajes muy largos, por lo que desde el primer dia que llegas tenes que trabajar, tener en cuenta 👋

A experiência foi muito boa!!! Fiquei apenas uma semana e gostaria de ter ficado mais, mas já tinha passagem de avião de volta. Matias e sua família são super simpáticos e a equipe tô restaurante é maravilhosa!! Me sentir super em casa! Os horários são bem acordados e é tranquilo. Fiquei ajudando na cozinha, limpando a louça e fazendo algumas coisas simples pra ajudar a montar os pratos (tipo montar legumes). O mais importante é que a praia fica a 3 quadras do hostal e é muito boa!! Quero voltar o mais rápido possível!

Todo fue bueno en Iquique y especialmente en the hostel♥️, Matías y Elisa siempre tratando a todos con mucho respeto y buena onda hacen que la experiencia sea muy agradable. Las tareas de limpieza en cocina a veces son con mucho movimiento, pero luego de terminar tu turno tendrás tiempo suficiente para descansar, conocer la ciudad o realizar actividades. Sin dudas un lugar acogedor y muy especial para realizar tu voluntariado :)
