Volunteer language and sports teacher
The experience
The project runs a school in central Uganda and the number of staff are few. Volunteer language teachers are needed to work alongside the permanent staff at the school. We are also looking out for sports and dance teachers as we run a number of sports activities and we have an established dance project
What you offer
18 hours of help per week
Child Care:
Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.
Teaching Sports:
Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.
Teaching Languages:
Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Requirements
Beginner English or Beginner English
Between 18 and 80 years old
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers
Be from outside Uganda

Program Details
Volunteers are coordinated by a volunteers coordinator who handles all their logistics and answers to queries. Once a volunteer arrives they are shown their accommodation and they sign the volunteers book. We have a child protection policy in place and volunteers are always asked to sign a copy.
Activities & Shift
All staff and volunteers report for work before 9am. There is a breakfast for volunteers at 8:00am at the accommodation. Lunch is served at 1:00pm and dinner at 7:00pm
Most of the work is determined by the school schedule. School begins at 8:00am and ends at 4:00pm
Rules
Lights out at 10:00am at the accommodation
The accommodation is a no-smoking zone however smokers can get a convenient space outside.
Alcohol is prohibited at the accommodation due to the hosts religious beliefs but also because it conflicts with the child protection policy. However volunteers can still access it outside the accommodation
