The Exchange

We are looking for a gardener or a tough person who can do hard work outside, used tools like bushcutter or chainsaw. There are a lot of brumbles and trees to cut out of the fences. If you know how to use manual gear, we can also plan to have you work with the tractor in the pastures. Our house is an 18th century farm surrounded by fields. We have about 15 horses and ponies on 20 hectares, and there are many tasks maintaining the area.

Program Details

I am looking for a volunteer taking care of my horses and a volunteer who could work on my car and my tractor (electricity, mechanic etc.). Apart from them I could take 1 extra volunteer if really qualified with horses (training yearlings).

Activities & Shift

OUTSIDE MAINTENANCE PROJECTS
We need mature, independent and handy persons who can work on their own. We live on a farm where there are many things to do. We will give you instructions, but the task is very versatile and volunteers have to be able to take wise decisions themselves.
We have animals to feed, hay and water to give to the horses, sometimes boxes to clean and animals to treat. There are fences to clean and repair, woods to clear and trees to trim. Sharp and/or heavy tools have to be used for these purposes.
The horses may have to be watered in the fields with the water tank and we need to drive with the trailer.
In winter the big balls of hay are put in the racks with the tractor.

OTHER MAINTENANCE
We also need help with DIY work (do-it-yourself, craft) in the house, with mechanics, electricity etc. and we would appreciate handy volunteers.

Respect of our live style is a basic rule. If you are helpful we will help you as much as we can in return.
