This was my first volunteering position and I had the best time! It seems like everyone who comes to the hostel falls in love with the place and it was so sad to leave. I stayed for two months and it really became a home. I had never worked in a bar before but you learn the work very quick and get great experiences. the hostel is a small town but so lovely. I felt very safe and there is lots to do. I met so many AMAZING people and will cherish the all the memories I made for life. Thank you the hostel!!!

The hostel was an amazing place to spend my time. It's away from the bustling cities like Cape Town but definitely had its unique charm. Had to cut short my trip there due to a family emergency but Yvette was very understanding. People are lovely, just communicate how you prefer to be treated

It was such a pleasure to have Valia with us. He is so caring , giving always ready to help us out. He is a very hard worker and will step in when we need him even if he was not scheduled to work. Valia is also an amazing artist. He can make paper come alive. His soft spoken demeanor and his beautiful heart crept into all of us and we were really sad to see him go home. I was so proud to have him as part of our team. I wish him only the best for the future and hope he will return to us.

Amelia formed part of our team immediately. She is experience behind a bar and in the kitchen. Amelia is a hard worker and can fill in anywhere she is needed. Her organizing skills is beyond amazing (I just realized this too late). Amalia just naturally formed part of us and soon we could not even imagine her not being there. Amelia we miss you a lot. Sandy was an amazing volunteer. She learns quickly, her skills are amazing and we could easily use her as part of our permanent staff. She was liked immediately by me, my staff and our customers. She filled out Backpackers with fun and joy. She works fast and thoroughly. she always did more than needed. Sandy, you are always welcome here, we miss you

I had a great time at Beach House the hostel is in a great location, making it easy to get around. The team was very welcoming, and I truly felt at home during my stay. I don't even know where to begin… this was my first volunteering experience and I couldn't have wished for a better one! the hostel/the hostel is such a magical perfect place. I felt so at home from the beginning thanks to Lieze, the staff and the locals. The work itself was very easy and flexible which offered me enough time to explore the beautiful area. I really can't name anything negative about this volunteering experience. This place and these people will always have a special place in my heart and I would definitely come back here one day <3.

Meike was a hard worker and her smile was contagious. She easily formed part of us and felt like she was always here. She made the Beach House a happy place and staff as well as customers like her and spending time with her. We miss you Meike and hope you will return some day.
