I had a great time in Atacames!. The environment is very nice and friendly. the guest house is a very willing man. Is going to help you with everything you need. We went on excursions, walks on the beach and eat at local restaurants. Dont forget to try bolones at the local restaurants. The city maybe is not very safe but with the guest house you feel safe and nothing to afraid of. You feel totally safe. I am very happy for this experience. I saw a new place and the local tradition. Irida to date has been one of my best volunteers and despite coming from Greece, one of the most beautiful places on the globe, she never ceases to marvel at the landscapes of Ecuador and its gastronomy.
On the other hand, in the hostel he was always up to the task in helping to make everything clean and in the food for my fish.
I recommend her to any Hostes, an excellent person and a beautiful character.

Mi experiencia fue muy buena. Ángel es un excelente anfitrión; tuve acceso a todo lo que buscaba en Ecuador: conocer lugares y personas únicas, practicar mi español, estar en contacto con la naturaleza y aprender nuevas habilidades. Mis tareas se centraron en la limpieza, la jardinería y la cocina, donde aprendí a preparar platos regionales con ingredientes de temporada. Ángel valora mucho la comunicación y mantiene un diálogo abierto para flexibilizar horarios y actividades. Me alojé en una habitación con baño privado y vistas al mar. Gané un amigo, que me ayudó mucho. Algún día volveré.

Anahí was an excellent volunteer. Her eagerness to learn Spanish surpasses everything, and therefore the communication was excellent. She carried out all cooking, gardening and cleaning tasks to perfection, (she told me it helped a lot; her previous volunteering in Chile served her well). I could say that she has been one of the best volunteers I have had in all these years on the site.
I will always remember her happiness on returning from her walks along the beach and her admiration when seeing the landscapes and people of my country.

Airbnb sin huespedes, cuarto con baño, pero la puerta de corredera sin seguro y el baño sin puerta generan inseguridad. Las actividades son sencillas, pero parecen más un servicio personal al señor Ángel que un voluntariado. Con el host al principio, con su familia presente, el ambiente fue respetuoso, pero al quedar solos me sentí incómoda con comentarios e invitaciones inapropiadas, como ir a la piscina (donde me tocó las piernas), al jacuzzi en su cuarto y a ver Netflix en su cuarto. Estas situaciones me hicieron sentir fuera de lugar y no alineadas con la idea que tenía de la experiencia.

Very regrettable are the comments that are out of touch with the reality of this volunteer. A beautiful room with a private bathroom and a lockable door was assigned to him/her. If he/she did not request a key, it is not the host's fault. Mi experiencia fue maravillosa, Ángel es un encanto de persona muy lindo anfitrión, cordial, culto, alegre, no se hace problema por nada,uno se siente muy acogida desde el minuto cero, la alimentación es saludable por lo que es una gran ventaja, y el lugar es MARAVILLOSO, mi habitación tenía una vista increíble al mar, con baño privado, piscina con un patio de ensueño. Es mi 1era experiencia como voluntaria y no me agradó, esperaba conectarme con lo que se busca, but fue imposible. Mis labores fueron sencillos, literalmente solo hacía las comidas para el host y para mí, por lo que no aprendí nada. Además me tuve que retirar a mi ciudad 10 días antes de lo acordado, ya q el host tuvo un "viaje inesperado". la casa es cool, pero me sentí incómoda porq no tenía privacidad, hasta me pidió que no salga sola si no es con él. (yo me escapé jij) en el cuarto hay un sensor de humo, pero es una cámara. Recomiendo que aclaren sus labores, tiempo y días libres.

Damy was an excellent guest; it's a pity the days she stayed there no guests arrived and there wasn't much to do. Because of her age it seems her parents don't trust her much and she arrived accompanied by her mom, who stayed for 2 days. Later, it seems they were right about something, because she ran away over the weekend without warning. She said she met a friend and they traveled to a nearby town, but it was very worrisome. To top it off I had a business trip abroad and I couldn't leave her alone. I called her mom and explained the situation and she agreed with her return. The comment about confusing a smoke detector with a camera seems perverse and more it looks like retaliation and frustration for not having completed her time in my hostel and who knows what furtive outings she may continue with, while under my responsibility with her mom, to whom I gave my word to take care of her.
