Casa do Mar (ECDM) hosts 6 volunteer English teachers at in Vidigal, teaching 50 students.
Live in Vidigal, Rio’s safest favela, at Casa do Mar, a glass-fronted house opening out directory onto the rainforest, with breath taking ocean views.
Each volunteer contributes 10-15 hours per week, teaching 2–3 hours per day over five weekdays. There are no classes on weekends, allowing time for rest, preparation, and personal activities.
We follow standard community living guidelines, asking everyone to respect one another and care for shared spaces. A cleaner comes daily to assist, but all residents are expected to clean up after themselves and maintain a tidy environment.
