A very peaceful and spiritual place - once the home to Apache tribes, their spirits still roam this land. Be prepared to stay busy, roughly 30 hours a week with working tasks. The full-time staff are very kind and welcoming, beautiful souls with open hearts. Just a note, they will invite you to learn and practice the Center rituals but you can decline and are not obligated to participate. Hope this was helpful. P.S. Be prepared to deal with small wildlife visitors, remember this is unincorporated desert lands, we are guest in their territory.

Amazing experience! Everyone is so nice and loving. I felt welcomed. The Arizona sky and desert mountains are beautiful. The volunteer housing was great and warm also. Rocío, who took care of the volunteers was so sweet and always making sure we were having fun, planning activities for us :) Thank you for the experience!

The Center is a wonderful opportunity to volunteer, meet international travelers, and learn about Tibetan Buddhism. The guest/volunteer cottages are well-equipped with everything you need and private. There are a variety of outdoor and indoor volunteer tasks like painting, landscaping, and cleaning. The DM team is committed to creating a special environment and practicing the tenets of Buddhism like mindfulness, meditation, and caring for all beings. The center is in a unique and remote location and is a good opportunity to reconnect.

This was a great opportunity to connect with nature, learn new skills, and make new friends :) the Center is a truly beautiful place filled with kind-hearted people. The desert invites you to be deeply present and to appreciate life in all its shapes and forms. Seeing the Milky Way from my bedroom window each night was an experience I won't soon forget. ❤️
