My experience with Mike was positive; I was surrounded by trees I had never seen before, such as jackfruit and mango. I recommend arriving in January for fruit lovers—and for the chance to see incredible animals; for an Italian, it was all completely new. Mike doesn't like cooking, preferring ready-made meals, but as a volunteer, you have to adapt—and if you’re a picky eater, the supermarket is an hour’s walk away.

I loved my stay! Mike shares so much knowledge about the area and the surrounding forest, and you can really see how passionate he is about the wildlife and the work he does to protect and care for it. The work is very fair, and while the food is basic, you have everything you need and can definitely make it work if you're a little creative! The lagoon is stunning and would be especially amazing to enjoy during the warmer months. I would definitely recommend this experience to solo travelers or couples looking for a peaceful place to slow down and take a break from travelling.

I loved my stay at Cedar Views. It's a little paradise! Mike is super kind and accommodating. After work you can go tourist out to Airlie Beach.

Perfect for busy travelers wanting to take a break and relax in a comfortable home. An isolated location, but Mike was happy to drive to and from the bus station everyday. Weeding on the slope was not easy, but everything was not so difficult, and I am grateful for the experience of working in a rainforest.

Overall a perfect experience for us for a week. The work was 3 hours early in the morning-it was tough but more than reasonable. Mike dropped and picked us up from the bus station on the days we wanted allowing us to explore Airlie to the fullest which we appreciated. The food offered was the only slight disappointment as it is frozen with little variety so be prepared to grab some of your own extras. The room was very hot haha but guess that’s the tropics! Mike did make us feel welcome and is clearly experienced with hosting backpackers which we found refreshing. Thankyou Mike!

Mike is a lovely guy, passionate and knowledge about his garden and we learnt a lot from him. The early starts and the work itself was tough and in high heat (be aware of Mozzies!), but it was very rewarding and we really appreciated having the rest of the day to ourselves. Mike was very kind to drop us off at the bus stop to Airlie every lunch time, which meant we had a lot of time in Airlie each day - we were slightly blindsided by the last bus from Airlie being at 17:40.
Highlights for us: home grown avocados, refreshing pool after work :)
Overall, it was a great experience!

Cedar views was a great experience! Mike is very welcoming and kind! He communicates all the tasks needed to be done and is always willing to bring to the bus stop to go into town! The work is only for three hours in the morning which is very reasonable! I would definitely recommend to other travelers!

Overall, I had a good stay and a positive experience. The work was quite hard and physically demanding, but it was exactly as described beforehand, so I knew what to expect. Everything was well organized and ran smoothly during my time there. I appreciate the opportunity and the experience I was able to gain.
