The Experience

It's pretty flexible here. There're a lot of tasks that can be done at any time by individuals and other times when it's great to have a group of people helping on a single endeavor. Some of the things that you might do are harvesting, planting, gardening, brewing and spraying compost tea, mulching, pruning, forestry, farmers markets, running the stand, beekeeping, scarecrows, gathering data, irrigation, mowing, fertilizing, and making biochar.

It was lovely spending the past week at Martin's farm. I enjoyed the work, and everyone was lovely (Martin, Denny his girlfriend, and all the other volunteers). The time went by so fast, and I wish I had more time to learn about the sustainable practices (such as making biochar for the outhouse). I'm glad the farm season came early this year, and I got to partake of it. I especially liked eating fresh strawberries from the garden, as well as watching the stars at midnight.

I stayed for two weeks right before the blueberries were ready to be harvested and I had an amazing time! :) This was my first worldpackers trip and Martin was a great host!

Hey Caley, Thanks for the great review! I thought I left you and Sophia 5 star reviews too, but apparently they didn't go through for some reason. I'll message the staff and see if I can do it again. If I can't, and any potential host is reading this, then please know that Caley earned a 5 star review on my farm and that I was very happy with her help!

This has been my best Worldpackers experience so far. It was everything I hoped for and more. Martin is a great host, who communicates well and really makes you feel like part of the farm. I got to learn a lot while helping around at the farm. The environment is so gorgeous and peaceful. Martin has a lot of experience with hosting volunteers and I had a great time with everyone, the other volunteers, the kids, and the cat! I had a wonderful time and would recommend it to everybody who love to be outside and connect with nature.

This has truly been a wonderful experience. I happy to have met this beautiful family. Martín and Denny are excellent hosts. The children are very calm boys. I had the opportunity to learn everything. Martín is an excellent leader and gives you the confidence to dare to use all the machines and that has been a wonderful experience. It has been worth all the learning that I take away from here. Denny is a girl with a smile always. The work is easy and the schedule is very flexible.

I had a great week here! I came here mainly for a learning experience and I got just that. Everyone worked together to get various tasks done! This was my first team volunteer experience and I love it! Getting to know people and their story's was such a cool experience. You learn to live a more sustainable, waste free and nature filled lifestyle! I wasn't here during the farm and the farm season but the farm's I had were delicious!
