Volunteering at the hostel was my first experience and I had a great time! Some things need some improvement, management is not very involved with the volunteers (more personal contact apart from the meeting would be nice), the volunteer bedroom needs some improving (working lights, maybe some curtains). The hostel is very respective regarding the working hours and is flexible. Staff speaks English (except cooking and cleaning, but that's the perfect way to practise Spanish (special shout out to Fina <3). You are with 6 volunteers. The hostel itself is very nice and the city of Mérida is amazing

This was my first volunteer experience and I think it was the best option. The place is very nice and clean, and the atmosphere is relaxing for staff, guests, and volunteers. I enjoyed my time working kitchen shifts, getting to meet travelers, as well as hanging out with them in the city. Would definitely recommend this hostel!

I had a really nice time at the hostel everything is really organized and set up so you can do your work and enjoy Merida. Shifts are either morning or at night giving you the whole day free. The accommodation is really nice and the staff are super friendly and fun to work with, especially Fina in the kitchen.

Recommend this, if the communication is better! I got caught in a bad situation and have had a bad experience with the hostel. My volunteering was really spontaneous and when I got there, they did not have a bed for me and put me in another room. Next day when I needed to move rooms, a volunteer told me about the bed bug issue occuring in the hostel and to leave my things outside. I was feeling uncomfortable and distrusting as the hostel did not communicate this to me and when I had a talk with them they showed understanding. I discussed this with the manager and wish them all the best in the future!

Amazing experience!!! :) Since the first contact for interview, they were great! Then at the hostel were very welcoming. The work was basically helping with the breakfast, doing beds and preparing activities with guests. Everything was quite simple but really fun! And they are open for new ideas what was cool. The hostel is incredible! Good showers, relaxing swimming pool, laundry service (free for volunteers), TV and work area etc. We're gonna miss all the staff and volunteers. Thanks guys! 🙏🏼

Hey There! My experience in the hostel was amazing, Merida and the Yucatan-Maya culture are long that you never finish. The activities are easy and fun, sometimes I worked in the morning and other times in afternoon shift with games and we created the real travel atmosphere, I love it. Thank you with my heart the opportunity that finish my trip, I'm Mexican, and probably this hostel is top 10 around my country. I highly recommend it. Níip-ólal tech (Maya)

2 years and half volunteering around Mexico, and the hostel still being my favorite Hostel so far! Thanks Javi, Dani, Viri, Fina and all the team for always being nice and empathic with me, you're my family! the hostel is an AMAZING Hostel to do your first volunteer; tasks and shifts are really easy, food is amazing, vibe is great and all the staff is helpful in general. If you prefer, you can stay all day at the hostal, cause the pool is beautiful, the tv room is quiet and the ping pong table is perfect if you're so competitive. I really love Hositk!

My three weeks at the hostel were incredible. The space itself is beautifully designed, the tasks are straightforward and I had the pleasure to work alongside some of the lovelies people I've met on my travels through Mexico. I highly recommend this worldpackers experience. Thank you for this opportunity!
