What you offer

Description: Volunteering in a remote jungle indigenous community incurs costs to cover the volunteer's sustenance, as there are limited food options. Program Details

The project is led by a family of Amazonian Kichwas from the Isla Anaconda community, aiming to revitalize ancestral knowledge of Amazonian medicinal plant use. We provide volunteers with a unique opportunity to live with an Amazonian Kichwa community, learn about ancestral knowledge of medicinal plants, and contribute to the conservation of the Amazon rainforest. In exchange, volunteers share their expertise freely in their respective fields.

Activities & Shift

Community entry is recommended on Fridays, coordinated due to boat access. Volunteers enjoy Mondays and Tuesdays off. Weekdays begin with 7 am activities after breakfast, comprising three hours in the morning and three in the afternoon.

Saturdays start at 7 am, featuring four hours of morning tasks and an afternoon cultural activity. Sundays commence at 8 am, with four hours of morning duties and an afternoon sports activity.

Rules

Respect for the culture is paramount. It's crucial that volunteers refrain from conveying religious beliefs or bringing drugs. They should not anticipate participating in sacred rituals, as it may offend community members. Volunteers must be organized and respect local beliefs, just as the community commits to respecting the visitors.
