We are a couple from the GB who have relocated to Carcassonne, France, where we run a small Chambre d'hote/gité and have a separate house where we live with our daughter, 9-year-old Eve.

We run a gites/chambre d'hote and mainly need help with basic housekeeping. We are happy to show people how to do various tasks and we like to work together to get to know each other better.
We will provide food and accommodation in a private en-suite room. The room used to be part of the chambre d'hote but with the new renovations we will let volunteers have the use of it. It is our most popular room and the guests love staying there; you can use the link below to see it.

There is als0 a private kitchen for them you use and laundry facilities. We have fast internet and a work station plus a common room and terrace for the guests that volunteers can use.
The daily tasks change depending on the guests needs. It is mainly general housekeeping, change overs, keeping the common areas tidy and possibly interacting with the guests if you meet them.
Some days are quiet and there will only be a little to do, and some can be very busy. We will be on hand to help as required.
Carcassonne is well placed for exploring the area and we will help you with ideas and suggestions.
The role suits those who have worked in hospitality, hotels is great but any front of house experience is an advantage.
The role suits people who are self motivated and organised as we have other businesses to work on and so we will be relying on our volunteers when we are not around. However we will always be there to plan ahead so you feel comfortable in the position.
We have simple rules around guests and which parts of the house can be used, but try to be flexible.
We have a two parlours and a garden terrace for guests which the volunteers can also use.
