Program Details
Our day-to-day life seeks a balance between work, learning, and enjoying the surroundings. We are currently in the project construction stage, building part of the finca's infrastructure and carrying out maintenance tasks, in addition to collaborating on different tasks related to regenerative agriculture and bioconstruction.
We work 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, always aiming that work is an opportunity to learn and share knowledge.
At noon we gather to eat as a family, enjoying traditional Canarian home cooking*, and a moment to chat and get to know each other better.
The afternoons are completely free to rest or explore the island. You can go hiking, visit nearby villages, enjoy the pool during the summer, or relax on the beach, which thanks to the Canary climate can be enjoyed practically all year round.
At sunset we usually meet on the rooftop to drink tea while watching how the mountain changes color with the sunset. It is a moment to share stories, experiences, and ideas with people from different cultures, creating a close and enriching environment.
More than a place to come and share your knowledge and experiences, we want this to be a space where you learn, connect with nature, discover Canarian culture, and feel part of the family during your stay.
IMPORTANT: We are looking for people who want and can enjoy what we have to share in terms of food; mostly everything contains meat or fish most of the time, if your way of eating is different from our culinary culture it will not be viable; if not, welcome!
Activities & Shift
We are currently expanding the chicken coop, which is the remaining infrastructure piece to complete before enabling the area for future workshops and activities.
When we complete this, we will begin executing the plan for the syntropic agroforestry system (food forest).
Rules
Rules and coexistence
We want this project to function as a big family, where respect, collaboration, and shared responsibility are part of daily life.
We believe that living together also means taking care of shared spaces. My father is in charge of preparing meals from Monday to Friday, and together we organize to wash the dishes after each meal. We take care of cleaning the kitchen, the shower, and the ground floor of the house.
For its part, the volunteers contribute once a week with the cleaning of the bathroom on the terrace and the terrace itself, which are the spaces they mainly use.
Our philosophy is very simple: each person cleans what they dirty and takes care of their own square meter. If we all take responsibility for what we generate, no one has to clean up after someone else, and the coexistence becomes much more pleasant for everyone.
We also ask for respect for rest periods, responsible use of water and electricity, and an open, positive, and communicative attitude. If any problem or discomfort arises, we prefer to talk about it honestly and resolve it among all.
And one last rule, perhaps the most important: Drama Free Zone! 😊 We believe in communication, respect, and good humor. Misunderstandings are talked through, differences are respected, and problems are solved by dialogue. We want this to be a place where people feel comfortable, enjoy the experience, and help create a positive atmosphere for everyone
