The Experience

You want plenty of time to explore Colorado, so we schedule you to work 21 hours each week. Work includes: Cleaning guest rooms and common areas Laundry Reception and checking guests in Greeting and socializing with guests Giving tours of the hostel property Planning &/or hosting guest activities Maintaining cleanliness and safety of grounds Other projects as needed Applicants that can stay for at least 2 months are given priority.

This has been one of the most amazing experiences. Erin has made such a beautiful, comfortable and welcoming environment. She was very accommodating with scheduling when things came up that myself or other staff wanted to do (especially when multiple of us needed off together 😭 thank you!!) The accommodations were clean and comfortable. I made some life long friends volunteering here and I couldn't be more grateful❤️❤️ 10/10 would recommend:)

This was my first experience with Worldpackers, and it was exactly what I hoped for! In my case, all I wanted was to spend some time in the U.S. and live like a true American during this period, and that's exactly what I got. It was incredible for me. The working hours matched the expectations—super flexible and no pressure. Erin is an amazing host who does an excellent job running the hostel! I had a lovely time at the hostel! Erin is a lovely, kind, generous host with a lot of knowledge about the area and lots of advice for any activities you're interested in doing around Colorado! The volunteer hours and workload are fair and reasonable, and you get a lot of time off to explore the surrounding area. It's definitely easier to get around with a car, but the bus system is reliable and cheap as well for local transport! I am looking forward to coming back here and i'm super thankful for my experience:)

My stay at the hostel was amazing! The location is great if you like hiking, you don't have to work many hours for your stay, and the overall atmosphere and experience are great. The one thing I believe should be improved on is the management style of the place, which overestimates the amount of work volunteers can learn to do in such a short stay. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there, whether it was in the work that I was given, in the time spent with the other volunteers, or in visiting Colorado Springs and the nature it has to offer.

It's definitely one of the BEST volunteer experiences I've done. I've volunteered for 3 weeks and helped the hostel with their social media, website and I also led a hike and taught yoga. The expectations were clear from the get go and Erin is committed to making sure you'll get to explore Colorado as you wished to. As long as I did my hours and tasks, I am free to do hikes with them or on my own. I was able to hike two 14ers and several day trips. I also love how I was able to cook easily and enjoy free bfast, seasonings and other free food. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND VOLUNTEERING HERE!!
