The volunteering experience was a very good one! The space is great, with a well-organized room, a comfortable mattress, and a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, stove, pots and containers. It has a pool, a large patio, and hammocks to relax. The location is also excellent: close to the beach, in the city center, and near markets, pharmacies, and shops. And the best part is the people: very nice, friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend it! It's a pity I couldn't stay until the end of what was agreed.

I returned after doing a one-month volunteering project, and I would come back many more times, for those who love diving or would like to learn about this world, it’s the right place, they have a very professional team, so you learn a lot from them, Junior and Jocy are already part of my family in Brazil, I’m grateful that life put me in that place, we always recommend it ♥️

Océanosub, without a doubt, is one of the best volunteering experiences I have had. The hosts are incredible people, very empathetic. The activities to be carried out are very calm, with no pressure, and the schedule is very comfortable. They are quite flexible in case they need to modify any schedule. I also enjoyed diving, snorkeling and walks with them; they always greet you with a smile. There is a lot of free time, so it is ideal if you want to disconnect a little or explore on your own. Recommended for travelers who love the sea.

And the host's experience was simply wonderful, something I will carry with me with great affection. The hosts are wonderful people, very caring and welcoming, who make you feel at home from day one. The environment is light, healthy and calm, and day-to-day practices are super accessible and well organized.

Besides all the human exchange and learning, Ilhabela is a beautiful place to get to know, rest the mind and reconnect. I am very grateful for everything I lived here 🫶🏼

This was one of the best volunteering experiences I’ve ever lived!! I gained a family… I thought I was going there to “only” dive, but I lived a much deeper experience. Josi, Junão, their children, the whole blood family, and the many affiliates that pass by the host make this place be much more than a host. The welcoming of others, the way of seeing life with lightness, enjoying the here/now and the true “don’t worry” are the life mantras of this community. Eternal gratitude for everything they did for me 💙 I recommend everyone to live this experience.

Ilhabela is a beautiful and very large island, there are many things to do. The location and the volunteering schedule allow you to get to know a lot about all of this; Josi is very kind and flexible, and the Ocean Sub team and the host as well.

Josi and Junior are very nice people; whenever I needed them they were there to answer me and help. The schedules and tasks were carried out as agreed. The lodging is shared with the people who come to take the host's courses; it's a simple place (mattress and pillow well used), and because of the river that runs beside the house there is a bit of humidity and mold (maybe it's a problem if you have rhinitis).

The OceanoSub family welcomes you in a way that makes you feel you never want to leave again; this is not only with volunteers, it is noticeable with everyone around this group. Josi, mother/friend/coordinator, and Júnior, teacher/joker/master of dives, aside from the part about filling cylinders which is more detailed (they have training), the other activities are calm for those who have basic notions of hygiene and organizational well-being! The only flaw could be the beds which are very simple, but the days are so lively and there are so many activities to do on the island that you sleep peacefully!
