I highly recommend the project! Spanish is definitely needed to communicate with the kids and the other adults. I slept in a comfortable bunk with my own bathroom, the food we prepared was delicious, and all the kids were so sweet. Most of the day consisted of prepping vegetables, then playing with the kids and helping them with homework, then rounding up and feeding all of the animals on the property. It was a great experience and a great way to be fully immersed in the culture.

My Experience at the project was amazing. The kids and the team are truly wonderful. I brought a bunch of instruments so please if any future volunteers know any guitar/piano/ukelele or violin please give a lesson or two to them, the instruments are there!

The project is an amazing place with incredible people that are working towards the same goal of helping kids and guaranteeing them a safe house where to live. Responsibility and respect are taught, the place is really beautiful and I was able to meet so many nice people who became great friends. Go to the project, they need your help and you'll get a an incredible experience back

Our time at the project was a great experience! While our spanish was a bit limited we still felt welcomed and engaged throughout. Other international travellers helped us fill in the gaps in our spanish and the experience as a whole was very fulfilling! The staff were friendly, the children were funny and the food was very tasty.

Volunteering at the project was an unforgettable experience. The kids are all kind and wonderful to interact with. The work involved lots of food prep, cleaning and helping out with the animals. We would get some downtime after lunch to spend doing whatever we'd like to do (go into town, play games with the kids, baking). Getting the opportunity to spend Christmas here was such a cool experience! I felt like we learned lots about the local culture, and truly felt like part of a family. Only recommendations for other travellers are to speak some Spanish before arriving and to bring some snacks.

Truly interesting experience. Would recommend this experience and mention that flexibility is key. Also, you will get more out of the experience the longer you stay so I recommend two weeks at least. Enjoy!

We had a fantastic time at the project! It was so rewarding getting the opportunity to help look after all the kids and animals, as well it was awesome meeting other like-minded people from around the world. Would absolutely recommend this opportunity to anyone, it would be beneficial if you could speak Spanish

The location is 15min walk from the town of Oropesa. There is a bus that can be caught easily to and from Cusco for 3 Sols. This organisation does a great service and the children who are there were very happy and safe. There are always things to do and you will get the most out of the experience with the effort you put in. We were lucky to experience the local fair of the town and a visit from Cusco football club, which was a memorable day for the children. We met other likeminded travellers who volunteered and became fast friends.

Staying at the project was a life changing experience. The kids are amazing and the work was rewarding. You must be prepared to give a lot of your self here, which can be challenging at times. The work requirement says 5 hours per day but the expectation is going to be more than that. The volunteers meet quite early in the morning (6:45) to help with breakfast, and then aside from a few hours break after making lunch it's pretty busy until the kids go to sleep around 9pm. It's a lot of hours but breakfast, lunch, and dinner is provided. Overall it was great and we're considering coming back :)
