Program Details
Our volunteer program works in this way: we give to the volunteer a whole private room with a private bathroom (airconditioning included) and usage of our fully equipped kitchen and the garden outside. We are in downtown Verona at 15 minutes walking from Julietta's balcony and our neighborhood is the most exciting area of the city as it is the University area full of cocktail bars, restaurants, and clubs. We ask the volunteer to help in the morning or in the afternoon, depending on the rest of the staff availability, at the reception desk. Usually the working hours do not exceed 5 hours a day and most of the time you just have to wait for the guests to arrive. The volunteer is also asked to keep the kitchen and common spaces clean and help on cleaning which however is not entirely the responsibility of the volunteer but of the service staff.
Activities & Shift
The volunteer should help at the reception desk: getting documents from guests and tourists, giving instructions and recommendations, filling the software with the customer's data, and, at the checkout, arranging payments and receipts.
We also ask the volunteer to make the bed, change towels and throw the garbage in the guest's rooms on daily basis and, only on demand if necessary, to support the housekeeper in the general cleanings of the room.
Rules
the cleaning of the volunteer's room, the kitchen, or the basic cleaning of common areas (like trowing the garbage and vacuum the floor), is responsibility of the volunteer (the housekeeper will take care of the common areas only once a week more deeply)
