Lidia and Briton were the most amazing hosts. They were kind, generous, and genuinely cared about each individual volunteer. They created an environment that encouraged volunteers to explore on their own, be part of the hostel community, and immerse themselves in the local culture. The entire staff at the hostel is incredible and made me feel at home from start. Trivia Nights hosted by Bryton were definitely the highlight of every week! I don't know where to begin - the experience at the hostel was extremely beautiful from the environment you're around to the culture and surroundings you're in! Lydia and Bryton are world class and extremely amazing people, much love and appreciation to them so much! The connection created between the volunteers is something very special that is cherished! The work to exchange is great and everything was as described, trivia night is a great time, and movie night too! Always a home away from home, recommend this volunteer/opportunity ten out of ten times!!

I couldn't recommend this opportunity more! From the start, I felt genuinely welcomed and at home. The work at reception was very fair and exactly as described. The setting is amazing—you're in the perfect spot between Cocles and Puerto Viejo, surrounded by nature, and right at the beach, but even more special are Lydia, Bryton, their family, the staff, and the volunteers they bring in. The people (and cats) I was lucky enough to meet made my time the much more unforgettable. I'm really grateful for my time at Tastydayz and would happily come back 💛

My time at the hostel was great. The whole team was very warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout the entire process from start to finish. I originally planned to only stay 3 weeks, but loved it so much that I extended to stay longer. I absolutely would recommend it to anyone looking to volunteer at a hostel in the Caribbean and definitely will make my way back someday soon. My experience at the hostel was amazing, I couldn't have asked for more. The host, Lydia, was super nice and understanding, always there if I needed her, was always patient, sweet, generous but also clear when explaining things and made me feel at home from the first moment. Her family and the staff also welcomed me as part of the team. The work didn't even feel like work and I could always ask if I had doubts. I met some amazing people and volunteers, we shared lots of great moments together. Overall I'm so grateful for this experience and I will miss my time there:)

Best voluntariado ever!! From the very first day I arrived, I felt very comfortable and at home. The reception work is easy and it's only 3 days a week, so there is plenty of time to do activities, go to the beach, or explore around. I made great friends with other volunteers, and Lydia is an amazing host. Puerto Viejo is a peaceful and beautiful place in the southern Caribbean. Special mention to movie night on Mondays. My experience here was amazing! Lydia and Bryton, the owners, are the best. Lydia makes sure you feel comfortable from day one and is always very kind and helpful. I worked at the reception, and everything is explained very clearly and the tasks are easy. The hostel is right in front of the best beach in Puerto Viejo and surrounded by nature, I even saw sloths in the garden! The town center is also very close and easy to reach using the bicycles provided to volunteers. The other volunteers were amazing, and the movie nights were the best. Thank you for everything!

Lydia and the whole team are very nice and welcoming. She always asked how I am doing. Even when I wanted to leave after a few days, I could talk to her open and she helped me with everything and was respectful. I had the cleaning Position. The work was as talked before. Just be ready that it is a lot to do and physical work in a hot environment. The kitchen and rooms are half outside, so there are some insects and other animals. The dorms are a little small and very hot at night for me. For this I didn't feel comfortable and left early. It really depends if you can adapt to the environment.
