The Experience

Our lush exotic tropical family farm is in need of a few extra hands to care for the land. Picking fruit, pulling weeds and keeping the animals fed Cleaning the common & guest areas are the daily duties. If you have some additional skills like fixing things, love to paint and make things generally more beautiful that would be a bonus. No alcohol or nicotine on site please. Please be mindful and considerate in speech and action.

Before my trip, I sent a message to most of the volunteers who had reviews for this position, but I didn't get any response from any of them. The requirement for volunteering in the US is having a work visa; So please have this in your mind as a consideration because they are not going to tell you that. Worldpeckers response was awful, and it seems they don't give a hoot about us.

This was such an awesome experience, the lodge is a place that I would recommend to anyone who want to live an off grid experience while still having the essentials. Terrie, Victoria and Gray are such great host, they will become really good teachers of you allowed them to be, Im really grateful for the people I met there and everything I lived there as well. Definitely coming back some day soon.

My time at the lodge was amazing, you are immersed in nature and eating fruit straight from the trees, the owners create a beautiful atmosphere and really care about the land , it was an amazing opportunity to give back to the land , you are living in the jungle so things can mold, it's rainy, and there are bugs (just to be aware of) also there was some miscommunication between managers and the owners regarding work and what was needed to be done , but they are very open to communicating and talking through things you may be confused about

Audrey was wonderful to work and play with! The delight to be around! Appreciated her integrity and being responsible! Thank you for your feedback. Yes we had just gotten back when you were there Audrey afterc3 months and hadn't synced up with Terri on working together w the volunteers. You were our first WP since Terri had become a new manager and we were back on island. I apologize if it was confusing at times. We are in our groove now! Appreciate you! Thank you for finding us! I had an incredible experience at the lodge. I meet many people that made the experience better, the host are amazing people and you truly feel welcomed. Also the place is really cool and peaceful, the only thing is you have to get a transportation if you want to go to the towns, but normally they help you with that. This experience made me see the world from another perspective. It was one of the best experiences I ever had.

I had such a great time at the lodge! First of all, everyone was so welcoming and accommodating from the get -go. I flew in quite late at night and other volunteers immediately offered to share their personal food with me until I had a chance to get to the grocery store. Although the farm itself was a bit remote, I was able to go into town on numerous occasions to experience the local culture. On top of that, I made great connections and friendships in the short amount of time I was there. I would absolutely recommend this exchange to others looking to visit the big island.
