I truly had the best experience with Massimiliano and the other worldpackers! Massi is caring and fun-loving, as well as an amazing cook. I enjoyed meeting other travelers and we all became comfortable very quickly. Learning about the wine process was very interesting, and we had a lot of independence once we learned how to do certain processes. Pumpover and press were easy to learn and it was satisfying to be part of the making of this year's wines. The dogs and cats are super sweet. We ate well and had lots of fun. Come prepared with a karaoke song! I will definitely be coming back <3

I had a wonderful time volunteering at Oasi di Masterone, I made lovely friends, learned a great deal about natural winemaking, and enjoying a rich cultural immersion into the Italian lifestyle. This is truly a special place to stay, waking up every morning to the sound of the roosters, then heading upstairs to feed the puppies was a joy. As a winemaker myself I enjoyed time in the cellar doing pumpovers, bottling, and watching over the wine during each step of fermentation. I will absolutely be returning to this magical place again, to enjoy a meal and a bottle of wine with my friend Massi.

Massimilano was an amazing host! He was funny, welcoming, inviting and informative. He made us feel apart of his family and created and fun, comfortable environment to learn and experience winemaking. I learned a lot from him, but you have to take initiative and ask for what you want and want to learn. He was willing to share his knowledge, experiences, and stories. I am incredibly grateful for the experience and he took the time to teach us and make us feel welcome into his home. I learned a lot, made great memories, and will always remember his humor, generosity, and lessons. 🫶

I loved my time in mastarone! massimiliano and penny made my experience so special, and i'd definitely come back. a previous volunteer tried to convince me not to go, but i'm really glad i didn't listen. my advice is to have your own experience, because mine was nothing like what i was told. massi is a genuinely kind person with a huge heart (and i honestly ate better there than with my own family hahaha). thank you for welcoming me into your home, sharing your project, and showing me country life. hope to be back someday! 🤍

This experience is for you if you're open to embracing cultural differences and seeing them as opportunities for growth. The property is beautiful, the food is excellent, and the cultural exchange is one of the most valuable parts of the experience. Maximiliano genuinely makes an effort to be a good host and often includes volunteers in local activities and events. As a solo female traveler, I recommend asking in advance who else will be staying during your dates. Personally, I felt more comfortable once Penny and other volunteers arrived, as I enjoy sharing these experiences with more women..

Marcia and Massimiliano gave me a very warm welcome. During my stay, I had the chance to carry out various tasks: helping at the B&B, looking after the chicken coop, mulching the garden and working in the vineyard.
They also have two beautiful cats and two very affectionate dogs. Massimiliano is an excellent cook and treated me to some of his fine wine, as well as accommodating my vegetarian diet. Although the arrangements can sometimes vary depending on the weather and other factors, I had a great time and would love to go back. Thank you!

Massi is an incredibly kind and open minded guy. In my 2 weeks I felt deeply immersed in his vineyard/agrotourismo operation. Every day we ate incredible food and had generous helpings of wine. I chose this work away to because I love living and laboring outside as it's not for everyone. Massimiliano and his business partner Penny work very hard to make the winery just as much a community as it is a business. Life on a farm/vineyard is a lot of hard work and can be very stressful; every day looks different, oftentimes unexpectedly, so being an adaptable, resilient person is key to having a great experience here (which I did🫶) Massi and Penny were incredibly generous with their space, delicious cooking, and precious time (and animals!) And of course shout out Fede; he showed my partner and I all the ropes and was a very good friend to us💕

I visited 4 weeks in Monperone. When I arrived, I was amazed of the mountains and countryside, and I was eager to learn what I can do. And I definitely learned a lot about farming, winery and Italian lifestyle. Days were sometimes long and exhausting, but that's what I enjoyed the most. The only difficult situation for me was with communication. Massimiliano can be very loud sometimes as Italian people often are, and for me, hearing shouting or loud voices isn't okay. This place is perfect for people, who love nature and animals and who are eager to work a lot in isolated environment.
