I loved my stay at Lani's farm. I really got to connect with nature, myself and the people around me, and disconnect from my phone and other distractions. It was amazing to see the nearby waterfall, and to shower in the stream near Lani's house. Lani is the most lovely, welcoming person and I felt so at home with her and the animals! I highly recommend staying with Lani if you're looking to connect with nature and spend a bit of time offline, learning about plants and animals.

It was such a unique experience, and I learned so much about the community, sustainability, and living a more simple lifestyle. Lannie was so welcoming, and I really enjoyed getting to slow down and connect with nature. She is such a bright soul. I also improved my Spanish a lot on this trip!

Lani is a wonderful, knowledgeable, wise, and truly special woman who has so much to teach you, not only about sustainability, but also about life. She welcomes you as if you were part of her family. She is very clear about the tasks, understanding, and patient.
The experience at the farm is beautiful and intense. You live completely immersed in nature. There is no bathroom or electricity, but you can get used to this lifestyle.

Lannie was an amazing host and always made me feel very at home. She taught me a lot about plants and their medicinal benefits. I will take the knowledge that she has given me with me for the rest of my life. The tasks are very simple and easy. I had no cell service, but there is a market about a 5 minute walk away with wifi, and the walk to town is about 30 minutes. We were able to hitch hike very easily. If you're looking to connect with animals and nature, I'd definitely recommend this to you!!

Volunteering with Lannie is volunteering with nature. Lannie makes you part of her family in just a couple of hours. She has so many stories to tell and so much to teach about personal well-being and healthy eating! The place is very peaceful and inviting. There are no restrooms or showers, which wasn't a problem for me at all. Bathing in the creek has a special connection with nature. There are many beautiful areas to visit nearby and explore our beautiful country. I will definitely be back!

I had a great time, even though I first had to get used to the lifestyle without a toilet and shower, I felt fully reconnected to the nature. The food was incredibly delicious and super healthy. Life on Lennie’s farm is amazing! Please read this if you’re considering going: it is camping! You are outside all the time, you shower in a Creek and go to the bathroom under the trees! If you have never camped or lived completely off grid before, maybe try it out before committing to Lannies. You are one with the Costa Rican the farm. If you enjoy this lifestyle; you will have so much fun! Lannie is such a sweet and loving soul, her home becomes yours the instant you arrive. She cares so deeply about everyone's well being that she gives you plenty of time to rest, heal, and recenter yourself!

I had a lovely stay with Lannie. She is very welcoming and approachable. During my stay, my environment was clean, the food was healthy, and the animal companions kept me in great spirits everyday. The tasks from Lani are very simple, and on my day off I had a good trip to Puerto Viejo with good food and beaches. I would definitely visit Lannie when I visit Costa Rica again!
