Program Details
We are looking for a communicative, curious person who enjoys being around people to join the Casa Bartô team.
The main activity will be to support our service, helping to welcome guests, assist with table service and ensure that everyone has a good experience at Casa.
Casa Bartô is a gastronomic refuge in Santo Hilário, a small district on the shores of Furnas Lagoon. We are a small, close-knit and dynamic team, which is why we value people who take initiative, enjoy learning and are willing to collaborate with different operational activities.
You do not necessarily need experience as a waiter. If you have good communication, responsibility and a desire to learn, we will teach our way of working.
We also warmly welcome foreign travelers. Not speaking Portuguese is not an impediment: we can adapt activities to your profile and direct those who are still learning the language to front-of-house roles, such as delivering dishes, organizing and supporting the team.
If you enjoy gastronomy, nature, off-the-beaten-path travel and meeting people, we want to meet you..
Activities & Shift
Activities take place mainly in the morning and afternoon, following the operation of Casa Bartô.
Reception and support to the dining room:
- Greet and guide customers;
- Support table service;
- Present the menu and explain dishes and drinks, when possible;
- Take and follow up on orders;
- Serve food and drinks;
- Bring dishes from the kitchen to the tables;
- Clear dishes, glasses and utensils;
- Keep tables and the dining room organized;
- Support the team during peak periods;
- Help with the overall organization of the operation.
As we are a small team, we expect everyone to be willing to collaborate in other activities related to Casa's operation when necessary.
Workload: 6 to 8 hours per day on operating days, mainly weekends, with 3 days off per week, previously agreed with the team.
Foreign travelers are very welcome. For those who do not yet speak Portuguese, we can adapt activities to front-of-house support roles, such as serving dishes and organizing, allowing you to participate in the experience while learning the language and getting to know the local culture.
Rules
Respect and good coexistence with the team;
Commitment to the schedules and activities agreed;
Good willingness to work in a team;
Respect for customers and the local community;
Organization and care for the shared spaces;
Responsibility for the equipment and facilities of Casa;
Willingness to learn and collaborate;
Flexibility to assist with different activities of the operation;
Minimum stay of 30 days.
We do not require fluent Portuguese. If you are a foreigner and are learning the language, we can adapt your activities according to your level of communication and experience.
